Remus blinked, arms outstretched and embracing Lily yet again. The poor girl. "I like you for who you are, Lily," he smiled. "Don't ever let idiotic people hurt you. They don't know what a great sort of person you are." He hugged her tightly, as if to prove his point in some way. "Okay?"

Lily embraced Remus tightly, her own arms enveloping him. Her eyes remained dry, her own body emotionly exhausted as she breathed in the soft comfort of another body. "Thanks Remus, that means a lot to me." She said softly as she leant her cheek on his shoulder. Why couldn't more boys be like Remus? He was so kind and gentle, understanding and considerate. He knew what to say and wasn't afraid to comfort you, unlike some boys she could name.

"Any time," Remus murmered, head tilting to the side and resting gently a top Lily's own head. "You know you're special, don't you? You're -and I hesitate to use the word- different from other girls. And I'm not sure why, if you understand what I mean." Remus added, sighing softly- contentedly. He wouldn've been even more happier, had he not been constantly glancing around incase James came.

James almost cried with relief as Sirius picked up. Taking a deep breath he sighed.
"I've done something stupid, mate," he said, running a hand throug his hair in his distress. "Do you think that you could come to that old classroom we found- the one with the chalk board that absorbs chalk?! Anyway... I kissed another girl. In front of Lily and now she hates me... And... And I feel a bit shitty actually, so yeah..." He trailed off, shrugging a bit.
Sirius'd come. Maybe find Remus on the way. He sighed, a little happier. At least he had his friends- they'd never do anything to hurt him... Right?
[ooc: Ooh, irony since Remus ish gonna kiss Lils ^^ ]

The 13 year old felt comforted and not embarrased as Remus laid his own head atop hers. Lily laughed drily at Remus' comment "You mean, I don't just fall onto the floor and worship Black and Potter's reputation. Different. I think I like the word special better." She said grinning sheepishly. "You know, you're different too. You're not like your friends who act all big-headed and cocky. You're kind, you know? I'm so lucky I have a friend like you." Lily said as her emerald eyes closed again as she just enjoyed the hug she was in.

/You don't realise how different I am,/ Remus thought, sighing inwardly. "That's nice of you, Lily," He smiled slightly, licking his dry lips thoughtfully. "Though 'special' just doesn't fit you. I can't think of a word to describe you." Remus added, eyes closing, hugging Lily a little closer. She seemed a lot happier from when he had first seen her coming down the corridor. And Remus wasn't so bored anymore.

A look of concern crossed across Sirius's face as James' head swam into view and parting the mists that lay beneath the surface of the glass. The look, however, didn't last long, lingering only fleetingly. "Ah..." the boy nodded anxiously, his face now neutral as he listened intently to the head's brief explanation. "Alright," he murmured, once his friend was finished, "The one with the funny board. When we found that board, I couldn't stop..." Sirius trailed off, for once realising that the moment was not an appropiate one in which to make funny comments. "Never mind. I'm coming."
Sighing softly, Sirius stowed the mirror under the bed once more. Having locked the book into his crammed trunk, the teen jumped to his feet, striding swiftly across the room and throwing the door open.
Within minutes of barging past younger pupils and winking at all the swooning girls he passed, Sirius found himself swaggering towards the corridoor that housed James' classroom. The area was quiet; far away from the usual bustle of the school. Only a soft murmuring could be heard and Sirius was distinctly aware of the quiet around him... so aware, that he felt the need, the obligation, to be quiet.
Dismissing his urge to whistle, the boy padded down the carpeted walkway, looking out for the classroom. But what he found whilst 'looking-out' was not the classroom. It was Lily and Remus. In very close proximity.
Sirius stifled a small gasp and dashed into a door on his right, silently peering around the corner of the frame in order to study his friends' actions.

Lily smiled and whispered, "Unique." Under her breath as she finally, reluctantly, pulled out of the hug before her face returned serious. "You have to promise me that you won't tell Potter what I said today. You have to." She repeated as she looked at Remus thoughtfully. She could trust him though, he wouldn't tell. But Lily had to make sure, if she didn't make him promise not to tell Potter what she had said then he could freely tell him, and Lily did not want that. She just wanted things back the way they were, not with all these confusing emotions running around inside her, just the one clear feeling of dislike that she carried for James. It was simpler that way.
Her emerald eyes returned to plead into Remus' amber ones as she realised what she had asked him to do; keep a secret from one of his best friends. Then again, if she wanted to tell Potter she would do so Remus should promise, hopefully, please?

Remus sighed, bowing his head. He had the strange feeling that he was being watched, but pushed it to the back of his mind. "I promise," Remus murmered, looking back up and catching Lily's gaze yet again. "I promise, Lily. Trust me on that one. James'll never know."

Sirius frowned, leaning forward a little in order to catch the quiet words that were passed to and fro. "Don't tell... Potter... Unique..."
And then there was the hugging to be concerned about... they didn't seem to be hugs of normality - but hugs of... Sirius was unsure... hugs of... just hugs containing more meaning than those normally exchanged between friends.
Intrigued, Sirius remained silent, breathing softly, gaze trained on Lily and Remus.

"Thank you Remus." Lily said with an inward sigh if relief and a small smile. "What would I ever do without you, 'eh?" She asked with a small grin. Strange how this one boy had made her forget about the other male downstairs so quickly. She had known Remus for almost three years now and he'd always been such a good friend. He'd always been there when she'd had problems and no matter how close he was to James, she knew she could trust him to be a good friend and keep his word. He really was quite amazing. Lily sat looking at this thirteen year old with a new found respect as she traced his features with her green eyes.

Remus shifted slightly, feeling rather uncomfortable as she stared at him, glancing down at his hands in his lap. "You're quite welcome, Lily," Remus noddded, the hairs on the back of his neck prickling and standing on end suddenly. Amber eyes darted about, searching the shadows for something or someone that was watching them. "You're a good friend."

"Thanks." Lily said as a slow flush appeared on her cheeks. What if Remus and her were more than that? What if they...? No that would be weird, right? But then, hadn't Lily just been thinking about how amazing he was and how perfect he was all the time? No, no, that was just ... strange. Looking up she started, "Uhhh...Remus? I..." She paused when she saw him glance around into the shadows and back again, she frowned, "Remus? What's wrong?" She asked as she craned her neck to peer into where his gaze was focused.

"Nothing. Nothing's wrong," Remus answered swiftly, eyes swinging back to Lily's face. "Heh.. What were you going to say, Lily? Do continue." He prompted, quirking an eyebrow slightly as if to prove that nothing was wrong, and he wished to continue their conversation. Remus smiled slightly, nodding his head for some reason.

"Errr....right. I .... I was just....umm.. thinking." She heard her own voice mutter. Since when did Lily get nervous around boys? And more to the point when did she get nervous around Remus Lupin? She wasn't sure what it was that pushed her over the edge, maybe the fact that no one had ever loved her, or that Potter had been caught kissing that tramp downstairs and Remus had been the first kind person to comfort her. Whatever it was seemed to have knocked all of Lily's brains out.
Leaning forward, Lily planted a soft kiss on Remus' lips.
