(Moony- =Cough= This be a private roleplay, just so you know. ^^)
Sitting in an old classroom James and Grace were talking. Amazingly she knew had strung a few words together and they'd had a conversation. Of sorts.
Grace had long brown hair and bright blue eyes. She was pretty, yes, but he liked Lily much better. He didn't /really/ know why he was here- but he was. He fleetingly wondered where Lily was and what she was doing. Sighing he realised he could have been with her...
But suddenly (well not suddenly, more slowly actually) Grace leant in and kissed him softly on the lips.
Well. This 'meeting' could have gone a lot worse, James thought, kissing her back a little. At least this way, with his eyes closed, he could pretend he was kissing Lily.

James really didn't want to know where Lily was right his minute or he would've stopped his actions in a second, well hopefully he would've done. Lily Evans was actually skipping down the grand staircase trying to find James herself. She had something very important to tell him and her heart throbbed painfully inside her ribcage. Her steps were light and she felt slightly giddy. Was she certain she should be telling James about her 'feelings'? No, but it was a risk she was willing to take.
Her coppery hair had been tied back in a pale blue ribbon and her emerald eyes were growing larger with excitement and anticipation. She had left her bag in her dormitory and had already searched the third floor classrooms, and decided now to begin on the second floor. She opened a few of the doors and frowned as she found them empty.
Smiling happily to herself, Lily continued in this way along the hallway until she stopped at the fourth door from the right and her pale hands shook with slight shock at what she was doing here right this second. Grasping the handle she swung the door open and wasn't prepared for the sight which she saw.
James.
But James wasn't alone. He had company, friendly company at that. Lily blanched slightly as she stared in horror at the two entwined teens. Her hand slowly slid from the door handle back to her side and she felt her stomach knot up inside her as her emerald eyes continued to bore into the figures of James and the girl he was with. Lily felt sick, she had come down here to tell James that maybe he wasn't so bad and maybe he wouldn't make such a bad boyfr...Lily couldn't finish it. That was the last time she took risks for a boy. The last time she thought Potter had changed.
Her knees began to tremble as her eyes remained fixed on the....couple.

Bored.
A word that /everyone/ hated. And now, Remus felt it. Bah. It was extremely annoying, considering Remus had noone to waste his boredom with. His friends were off somewhere else, and Madam Pinch had closed the Library because someone had put paint bombs on top of the shelves, and.. Well, it made a mess, to put it simply. And so no one was allowed into the Library. Shame, Remus was going to get some books out he'd been wanting to read.
He coughed, sitting on a wide windowsill and gazing around. Maybe Anya or Sadie or someone would come along and talk to him. Remus yawned a rather dog-like yawn, amber eyes closing and auburn locks falling into his face, which he instantly brushed back. He began to hum, /utterly/ bored now.

The two broke away for a moment and Grace's face swam back into view.
Sigh. She wasn't Lily... He turned his head slightly. She was Lily... Oh shit.
"Oh, Evans... That was...I was just.." He stood up, quickly, grabbing his arm away as Grace tugged at his sleeve.
"James?" She simpered, pouting slightly through rose-bud lips.
James waved a hand at her, impatiently. This was Lily- this was important. What was he going to do?? He moved to her side, eyes pleading with her to understand. He was a teenage boy- thats what teenage boys do. Right?
"Lils," he started again, "Look..." but how could he say- ignore the bimbo I like you. A. That was hurtful to Grace and B. Lily would never say 'I like you too...' Not now.
Fool.

“That’s Evans to you.” A voice said coldly. Lily was speaking but she didn’t actually realise until the cruel comment had left her lips. Potter was allowed a life wasn’t he? It wasn’t like Lily was his girlfriend or anything. Lily stood in the doorway unsure whether to stay or leave. She should leave so that, Potter and his ‘friend’ could go back to doing whatever they were doing before. Her smiling, pink lips had turned into something of a sneer as she regarded the boy in front of her with hot, tingling eyes. Whatever she did, she wouldn’t cry, her green eyes would not spill tears over James Potter.
The thing that hurt the most was that Lily had taken a risk, against her better judgement, and found that she’d been wrong, again. He was still that conceited prick she had met three years ago, except now his urges had changed. What used to be for pranks and quidditch had been diverted to girls. ‘Girls’ was the most pleasant term Lily picked out of her mind for describing Grace in front of her. Who was she anyway? Just some random ‘fan’? That was really low, but Lily didn’t care, she had been hurt and humiliated, although only she knew by how much. Lily’s smiling lips melted into an angry frown as her large eyes clouded with pain, hurt and confusion.
James had blown his chance now.
She knew that for certain. Lily turned to look over her shoulder with a look of utter loathing and despise showering her normally calm features, was this how Severus felt? Lily thought with a jolt. Lily suddenly felt very understanding to Snape and sympathetic too, even if he was a bit slimy at times. Lily had been the butt of one of James Potter’s cruel jokes, what about poor Severus who faced this kind of humiliation everyday? Lily pushed these thoughts from her mind as she focused on her own pain. She had to know something, she just had to. It didn’t matter if James couldn’t answer but she had to ask. Turning around to face James Lily spat one word at him. The word was filled with such hate, pain and confusion that Lily felt her eyes welling up again.
“Why?”<br>

James watched Lily as she glared at him. But why did she care so much? She hated him- everyone knew that. Except she hadn't hated him in the Common Room when she'd helped him about Remus, and they'd had a good laugh the other day. Aw bugger, he thought, they had been getting on really well and know he'd blown it.
But..But.. He was allowed to see other girls, right? Even if the girl he had currently been..uh.. Seeing was a bit... Needy.
By needed he meant that she was now hanging onto his arm, shooting Lily death ray looks. He shook her off, yet again, and hoped that she'd go away.
But no, instead she slipped an arm around his waist until he turned to her and said "Could you leave me and Lily...I mean Evans, alone for a second?" He asked, eyed wide.
Grace pouted a little, disentangling herself from him and flouncing out. James buried his brought a hand to his head and began to massage his temples.
He looked up sharply as Lily spat out "Why?" At him, he was shocked at how angry and hurt she sounded. Why did she bloody care so much?? And it was obvious now that he'd never have a chance with her. Ever.
He sighed "Why? Good question. And I really don't know... But I do know that while we were...um...kissing," here he turned a bright red colour "Well, I was kinda pretending it was you." He sighed and shrugged. This was the part where she slapped him or walked away from him and he didn't know what he would do if she did.
||ooc|| Ooh, while Lils bumps into Remmy, Sirius could come and comfort James and they could both walk in on Rem and Lils... -prods others- Huh? Huh?! ||

(Good idea Prongsies! *huggles* I'm sorreh for how mean Lils is!)
Lily moved out of the way for 'Grace' to leave as her eyes continued to bore into James' hazel ones. He was pretending Grace was her? That was so....cruel! That poor girl probably thought James had actually liked him and besides, Potter shouldn't go looking for substitutes should he? Lily wasn't sure anymore but could feel her feet edging slowly backwards as her ears tried to block out Potter's explanation. She didn't want to hear it, whatever he had to say she didn't want to hear it. Turning her pale face towards the ground, Lily avoided his gaze.
It wasn't fair, Lily had been coming to say how much she had thought she had liked him. James hadn't done anything wrong though, had he? Lily shouldn't mind, it's not like they were going out. So why did she have the most terrible urge to throw her arms 'round his neck and cry? Tell him it was alright, that she was just jealous, that it wasn't his fault that she was a moody cow. Lily kept backing out the door, her feet inching out into the hallway.

James' eyes were actually filling with tears, but he blinked them away. He wasn't going to cry infront of Lily... Infact he wouldn't cry at all over her. Well, maybe just a bit.
He watched as she edged away, "Lily?" He pleaded, eyes wide, "Look... That was wrong," although he didn't really know why it was wrong when they weren't dating. "I know it looks bad... But..." What could he say.
If he loved her enough he wouldn't have done that... So maybe he didn't love her enough.... But he did. He DID.
"Please?" He whispered.

Lily blinked, were those tears glitening in James' eyes. She didn't know what to do. More than anything she wanted to hug him but her hands remained at her side. Biting her lip, Lily gazed at James for a minute more, the ghosts of what she could've had playing on his face. The thing about this situation was that she knew he wasn't in the wrong to do what he did so she couldn't show that she was angry or upset outwardly, even if her green eyes betrayed her feelings.
Leaning forward, Lily kissed him on the cheek and whispered almost inaudibly; "Sorry." Her emerald eyes held his gaze for a minute before she sighed and turned to leave, her irate hand brushing a tear back from her pale cheek as she walked further up the corridor without looking back and hoping Potter couldn't see her shuddering shoulders. She desperately wished her legs wouldn't go, but they moced on carrying her further from the empty classroom as her head urged her to go back and salvage what she could from the wreck she had just made.

James watched her as she watched him, trying to tell what that strange look was in her eyes. He couldn't tell- he desperatly wanted to put his arms around her, but he couldn't.
You fool, you're a fool, fool... A voice sang into his ears, only fading away as she kissed him on the cheek- then only one word filled his head. 'Sorry...'
Sorry for what? He wanted to ask as he brought a hand to his cheek. He opened his mouth to call after her.
"Lily?" He said, watching her as she walked away. Was she crying? He thought, studying her closly. But he doubted it...

Hearing her name, Lily increased her pace. She couldn't face James right now.
'Running away from your problems?' A voice said mockingly in her head, 'you're a coward Lily Evans, a plain coward. Did you see how pretty that girl was? No wonder James was snogging her face off. And you thought he liked you. Yeah, right!' A bitter voice whispered in her head, man it was a mean little bugger.
Lily sped up once again, her legs kicking into running mode. Fleeing from the voice in her head more than anything, Lily made it up the stairs and round the corner, at least James couldn't see her now. At least she couldn't see him.
She realised with a jolt that James had once again played her for a fool. After all those times she had said he had only wanted her because she was out of reach, looked like she was right there. As soon as she had shown she'd liked him anymore than a friend, he had turned to other means of amusement. A low growl erupted in Lily's throat as she considered going back to slap him, but her resolve melted and she turned hastily to continue down the corridor, her feet stamping heavily on the polished floor.

Remus jumped slightly, both seeing Lily and hearing the growl she uttered. He quirked an eyebrow, watching as he 'stomped' towards him. "Truthfully, I don't think you suit a growl," He chuckled, amber eyes watching her warily, watching her every movement. Well, /someone/ had come. But maybe it wasn't the best time to talk to her. But ah well, she looked like she needed some comfort. "Are.. Are you all right?" Remus asked softly, still rather wary of Lily. He'd never seen her in such a foul, and yet rather sad and perhaps betrayed mood.

Lily blinked as her thoughts were interrupted by Remus Lupin. Here was someone who wouldn't judeg her for being honest, she wasn't afraid to expose her true feelings to him. She smiled half-heartedly at Remus' comment about her growl before walking over to him and letting all her thoughts erupt from her mouth.
"No, I'm bloody not alright. Do you know what I was going to do today? I was going to find James and tell him that he....errr.....wasn't such a bad guy, you know?" She blushed slightly at this before continuing her tirade. "I searched nearly all of the classrooms and when I do find him, he's tangled in the arms of some random tart he picked up in the Great Hall. The thing that hurts the most, Remus, is that I was right. I was right all along. He only wanted to go out with me because I was out of reach, as soon as he thought he could get his claws into me, the fun was over, the game had ended so he pursued another girl. How could he do that to me Remus? I really thought he had changed. It's not fair. She was gorgeous too, there was no contest. I guess he's wise really, look at me and then there's my violent mood swings, he did the sensible choice. But why? I can't believe my luck. It's not fair. I know how Severus feels now, to be the butt of one of Potter's cruel jokes. I should go slap him! He is such a horrid git. He was going to be my horrible git though. So that makes it alright. No, it's not alright. He shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. Breaking hearts just because he thinks he can? Remus...."
Lily paused, ignoring the large tears that slid down her cheeks and her breathing came harsh and shallow as her lungs gasped for air after her sudden tirade and trying to control her heaving shoulders as she sobbed silently. Her lungs continued to gulp for air as she lowered her emerald gaze from Remus' face to the floor.

James watched as she dissapeared round a corner. The girl he'd never have.
He growled and kicked a table over. What was the point?? Why had he done that? Why was he such a fecking FOOL??
Kicking the door frame for a while only made his foot hurt and his eyes water. Yes water- not /cry/.
He groped in his pocket for a moment, bringing out a mirror with a guilt frame. "Sirius Black," He choked out, "Sirius Black," he repeated again, going to sit on a chair, his head glumly in his hands.
