A long haired brunette sat doodling on her journal boredly. The Divination professor was dragging on and on about something, and Anya had tuned her out. Most of the students had. Except for the select few like Lily and Remus. they always paid attention, it seemed. Her quill lightly scratched on the cover as she wrote things like, 'I -heart- Kai Charlton' or 'Mrs. Kai Charlton' and the sort. Poor girl. She was in love! Finally she looked up, and heard the teacher order them to partner up, and she sighed looking around for someone to partner up with.

Lily Evans was sat with her legs crossed on one of the plush armchairs in the divination classroom, taking notes on what the teacher said with her scratchy quill. It zoomed back and forth across the parchment and the tip of her pink tongue was pressed against her top lip as she frowned in concentration. Why couldn't they just speak a little more slowly? The thought flashed quickly in her mind to be replaced almost immediately with the ramblings of the Professor. The thirteen year old rolled her emerald eyes as she continued to write. Finally the woman stopped talking and told the class to get into pairs. Lily stretched her arms above her head and yawned slightly. Now, who to go with?

She saw Lily, who was a couple tables away. "Oi! Lils, get over here!" She smirked. Lily would know what they were supposed to be doing. She /always/ did. Sometimes Anya thought her friend was crazy, but then again, she herself was too. So that might have explained why they were such good friends.

Lily's eyes swivelled round to find Anya yelling at her and she grinned. She happily picked up her books and abandoned quill to weave her way round the tables to reach Anya. "Hey. Couldn't see you for a minute there." Lily said with a smile as she plopped into a large armchair around the circular table and flicked her book to page 43. "Okay, so are you ready?" She asked, her emerald eyes sparkling with an uncharacteristic michevious gleam.

"Er sure. What are we doing again? I was to busy to pay attention." She hurriedly opened the book, flipping to the correct page. She didn't want to hear the Professors reaction if she saw Anya had completely covered the inside of her book.

"Anya!" Lily exclaimed exasperately as she rolled her eyes. "I half expected it, but really, you should listen more." The red head said as she shook her head but smiled all the same. "We're doing palm readings, come on, you do mine first. All you need to do is look in the book. Make up some balony and it'll be fine. Although, if she asks, I didn't tell you that, okay?" She whispered the last part of the sentence. "The old coot likes all that gloom and doom, so throw some of that in." The thirteen year old said with a faint giggle as she held her hand out for Anya to take in her own. "Wait, what's that on your book?" She asked with a faint smile as she tried to reach for the book that lay the opposite side of the table.

Sunken almost a foot into her plush, squishy, tuft-like chair, a third year Ravenclaw sat in the back of the overheated classroom. A haze seemed to be settling in around her as she drowned out what the professor was saying.
In her lap sat a piece of spare parchment supported by an unopened text book. She was sketching a picture of the two girls in the front of the classroom- Lily Evans and Anya Delioncour. In this particular picture they were reading each others palms and laughing. It was times like these that Devin wished she had a lot of friends so that they could laugh together.
Her quill scratched along her parchment in short quick strokes as she drew the picture. They look so happy she thought to herself. Attempting to push the thought out of her mind, she went back to working on drawing Lily's hand. Hands are always difficult to draw.

(-POkes- FOAMY! I love those thigns! -Rolls around on floor in laughter- Ahem, anyway, shall post now.)
Lily went to grab the book but as she stood up, her foot got caught on a squishy bean bag under the table and she slipped, her arm sliding across the table to knock the book onto the floor. Lily smiled apologetically at the teacher who had shot her a glare for making a thud echo round the classroom and breaking 'people's concentration.' Pfft, who was concentrating on divination anyway? Not her for sure, and neither was Anya, apparently. The red head glanced around the class, looking for anyone who appeared to be working on palm reading, and her emerald gaze landed on the girl near the back, a Ravenclaw she had never really noticed before. She offered a smile towards the lone girl before reaching for the book she had knocked off the table and setting it back on the rounded table.
Lily found her eyes travelling back to where the stranger was sat and she wondered why she hadn't noticed the girl before now. Although, as she glanced around, it didn't appear that anyone else had noticed her either, since she was sat on her own, working very hard on something that was settled on her lap. Lily fought with herself for a minute before she made up her mind and stood up from the chair and made a beeline for the Ravenclaw. "Hello." She said brightly as she offered another smile and stood rather awkwardly before remembering what she had ocme to say. "Err..would you like to come and join us? It's just that, well, since we're meant to be reading palms, it's a bit hard to do on your own. So, would you like to come and join Anya and I?" Lily asked, as her large eyes settled on the girl she had overlooked in her three years at Hogwarts and was quite ashamed that she had failed to notice everyone in her year before today.

//YAY FOR FOAMY! w00t! He's so cool, and he makes me want to buy a squirrel. ^-^ -is glared at by kitten snoozing in my lap- I mean... you are way better than foamy could ever be! heh ;D..//
Devin had paid no attention to when Lily had fallen, though I am sure she would have found it quite amusing. She was far to busy sketching the picture that she would probably end up throwing away anyway. Oh well, the thought had not occurred to her yet, so she worked her heart out on the silly little picture.
Devin had become so absorbed in her sketch that when a voice spoke to her from a figure looming above her she was startled and jumped a little. She looked up to see flowing red hair and deep green eyes. The same eyes, in fact, that were drawn on the parchment in her lap.
Devin took the parchment and slipped it under the front cover of her book and closing it. "I would love to." saying, returning Lily's bright tone of voice. Standing up she replied, "Now, I believe I've met Anya before, but I haven't met you yet, Lily." To someone else it would be a rather strange sentence; using someones first name after explaining that you haven't met them before. To Devin, though, it mad perfect sense.

The red head cast curious eyes at the parchment Devin hid in her book, but quickly dismissed any thoughts of it from her mind. Her feet carried her back to the table she had been sat at previously and she plopped back into the comfy, scarlet armchair which she had recently vacated.
Lily frowned as she tried to work out the girl's sentence and a light chuckle rumbled in her throat as she pulled her book towards her before the teacher realised they weren't doing anything. "Right, well I'm Lily, as you already know apparently. It's nice to meet you .. ?" Lily offered as she put out a hand to shake the Ravenclaws.

Half sitting, half lying in a plush armchair sat, none other, than Jayna Marsh. Eyes half closed Jayna struggled to pay attention. "Pair up? Bloody-I hate pairing up with people." She muttered. Of course she didn't really but, feeling in a good rebellious mood, Jayna felt only necessary to hate pairing up at that time.
Sitting up unwillingly Jayna looked around. Brilliant. The whole class was paired up! She even saw a triple group. "Wonderful..smashing....bloody brilliant! No one to pair up with. I really do hate this class sometimes." She thought to herself angrily. Her mom has told Jayna on numerous occasions how she has a 'gift' for Divination, but it's not like Jayna cared. This was probably the only class she hated above any other, and it wouldn't even help her become an auror! Looking somewhat defeated, Jayna sunk back into her armchair and stared at the ceiling.

"Nice to finally meet you." replied Devin shaking Lily's hand while setting herself down in a chair equally as squishy as her last. "I drew a picture of you, If you're interested in seeing it that is." Devin picked up her text book and plopped it gently onto the soft tablecloth. Opening the front cover, she slid the parchment across the round table in front of Lily.
Devin wasn't quite sure why she wanted to show her the picture so badly, but then again she didn't really care either. I suppose she had a right to be proud of her work, especially after working so hard on it.

Lily found herself smiling as Devin told her that she had drawn a picture of .. well..her. It dawned on her that, that might have been what she had quickly slid into her notebook when she had walked over only a few minutes ago. The red head nodded slowly at the offer to see the sketch, and her smile broadened when Devin pulled out the aforementioned notebook.
Her jade gaze swept over the picture, absorbing each detail and each stroke across the page. "It's..." Her voice came out a whisper, so, clearing her throat, she began again. "It's..wow." The third year said simply, quite stunned at the ability of Devin to draw so well. "It's really good." She said sincerely as her emerald gaze was dragged from the dun-coloured, parchment and glanced at Devin, noticing another girl sat by themselves...Jayna!
They had talked the other day in the common room and so Lily offered a smile to the lone girl and gestured her over to their table, as there was still a spare seat next to Anya, and they needed to work in groups or partners anyway. Besides, it's never fun when you sit by yourself in lessons, and Lily would know. Her attention diverted back to Devin and she felt the rough parchment in her hands. "When did you draw it?" She asked interestedly.
