Head rested in his hands, half-closed amber eyes staring at the closed book before him, Remus Lupin sighed. The Library was strangely empty for a weekend, and silent. But a Library normally was silent. Brushing auburn locks from his face, Remus looked about. He was waiting for his friend- James Potter. As he'd sent a note to him, asking James to meet Remus here in the Library right now.
Hopefully, unless James was banned, he'd get to see him. As Remus really did need to speak to James, seeing as he was one of Remus' closest friends. Glancing about again, almost hopefully, Remus yawned softly. He'd been up half the night thinking.

James had received the note from Remus, asking him to meet him in the library. He was a worried as the note sounded quite urgent. He made his way from the Common Room and down the stairs, cursing as he remembered he was kind of banned from the library, but, he reasoned that was only a slight set back. Nothing he couldn’t handle…<br> And that’s how it came to be that James was dodging through the book cases on the look out for Remus Lupin. I am actually banned from here, he thought, at least I was last time I checked.
Finally he saw his friend, who was looking rather distressed. 'Hey,' he whispered, sitting down relieved that the Librarian was pre-occupied with a student who had not only returned a book late but also covered it in sticky stuff. 'What's up?' he asked.

"Hi James," Remus nodded, sighing yet again, amber eyes closing for a moment. He looked back up, eyes catching and holding James'. And so, Remus cut straight to the very point. Or, not the point yet.. But he was close. And then, the terrible thought struck him- how would James react? Shrugging the thought away, Remus asked: "How well do you know Sirius?"

James' eyebrows shot up, the urgent note was to exchange pleasantries about Sirius? He frowned a little, there had to be something more to this.
Intrigued he shrugged 'Pretty well,' he said 'about as well as I know myself,' he said with a smile 'why?'
What was going on? And why did Remus looked so worried?

Remus ignored the look James gave him. "I feel really stupid," He sighed. "Erm, look, James. Cutting to the point here- I.. Like Sirius." Instantly Remus downcast his eyes to the table, elegantly long fingers entwining themselves together in his lap.
(Writers' Block again. Urgh.)

James frowned.
'Erm,' he said, not really getting it, 'Dont we all? As a mate I mean, Sirius is pretty cool about most things. Good for a laugh and that.'
He frowned even deeper, as the penny dropped. Oh, he thought. But Remus...And Sirius. Now that was weird. Really weird.

"No, James," Remus replied softly. "I mean /more/ than a mate. I like Sirius /more/ than a 'mate' should. If that's the right phrase for me." A feeble smile was forced onto his pale face, as he looked up at James, noting how the boy's frown had deepened. God, he felt stupid.

O-K.
What to say? He thought, desperately. Both of these people were his best mates. Both had been there for him time and again. But Remus felt that way... And what if Sirius did too?? That would be mega weird... But he'd support them both. Right? Of course he would. And they didn't even know if Sirius //did// feel that way. No use jumping the gun.
He sighed 'Well,' he said 'Each to their own, whatever floats your boat...' he laughed lamely at his attempt to lighten the mood. 'But what are you going to do, mate?' he asked, the concern in his voice canceling out any attempt he'd made to joke about the situation.

"I don't know," Remus muttered, face in hands yet again. He'd never realised he had 'feelings' for Sirius, beyond that of a close friend. But with each passing night that he spent worrying over stuff, the 'feelings' were becoming more and more clearer. And then there was Anya to think about. Remus /knew/ she had feelings for him, as someone -couldn't remember who, though- had told him Anya had liked Remus. But if Remus liked Sirius.. "I don't know at all."

He sighed 'Well...' he said, trailing off 'I seriously don't know... I mean, how sure are you that you feel...That way?' Er, James, said a voice, do you think he'd even be mentioning this to you if he wasn't sure?? He frowned at himself, Merlin, you really are Mr. Insensitive!! {{Do you know how tempted I was to say 'Old Chum' }}

(Say Old Chum, then! xD)
Remus gave James a look, as if he was thinking what James was thinking- he wouldn't be talking to James if he wasn't sure. "Quite sure, James." He muttered. "Just the fact I don't want to feel stupid or anything."

James smiled, ruefully.
'And you still have no idea what your going to do, comrade?' he asked 'Because your going to have to come to a decision soon...' he trailed off again. He wasn't equipped to dealing with problems, he didn't know how to comfort or advise... But he was going to have to try.

"I'll have to tell him, then," Remus sighed, glancing up at James yet again. A faint blush came onto his pale cheeks. "But..- I'm a tad scared." It was true. For Remus feared rejection from Sirius. And that made him fear speaking to Sirius about his 'feelings'.

James grimced 'Yup, you probably do have to tell him...'
But how would Sirius react? James thought, It'd be a shock, unless he'd already had an idea about it.

Lily Evans, a 13 year old girl in Gryffindor, was currently, flustering about a mess amde on the 'm' shelf in the library. The red-head took the messed up books quite personally, although it wasn't her library she was probably in there a lot of the time and occasionally helped Madam Pince out. The books were not only in the wrong order, but several had been left on the floor. Bending down, she picked up the first few books and stepped onto the chair next to her to reach the top shelf.
Peering over the bookshelf, Lily's keen green eyes first noticed two boys, both in her year. Blushing slightly, she recognised the raven-haired child immediately. It was James Potter, and they had been getting along quite well, unusually well actually. "Hello, you two, what are you doing in here?" She asked as she tilted her head at the pair, "And aren't you, Mr. Potter, banned from the library?" She asked as she raised an eyebrow.
