A small house in a long row of Terraces stood tall, semi-proud but rather beat-up. Two teenagers were attempting to relax outside it, one's short and spiky black hair was ruffled up messily to hide her face and the other was lying, sprawled out on the front lawn in a mad attempt to get a sun-tan on that semi-miserable day. The girl with the short hair sighed miserably, the Summer Holidays had finally rolled around and she was stuck at home with no one but her idiot brother for company.
Marco rolled over to look at Robyn, his blond hair had bits of grass and dead leaves caught in it but he didn't mind. "What's up?" he asked, getting up and brushing down his blue jeans and his pale blue t-shirt. "I've never seen you lookin' this miserable before." he added, tilting his head to one side as he sat down on the front step next to her.
"Oh, it's nothin'" Robyn sighed, her hands were folded on her lap over her new black jeans, she was also sporting a relatively new t-shirt, it was a pale pink in colour with the words 'Punk Witch' on it in jagged black writing, it had been a gift from CJ. "I guess I just miss Hogwarts is all..." she muttered.
"Are you sure it's just Hogwarts you miss?" Marco said. "Are you sure it's not that Lupin kid too?"
Robyn shoved him rather harshly at this, so harshly that he fell to the ground. "Give me a break Marco! Remus barely even knows that I exist, he doesn't care about me so why should I keep caring about him!" she snapped, but her face had gone a rather bright shade of pink.
Marco got up swiftly and headed inside. "Whatever you say Robyn..." he muttered softly, as he closed the door behind himself and wished, and not for the first time that Summer either, that they could have some Wizarding company instead of being stuck at home with no one but themselves, their parents and their Muggle neighbours keeping them 'company' all Summer.
Robyn brushed her hair away from her face. Although she would never admit it to his face Marco had a point, she did miss Remus, as much as he missed Celestia no doubt. She missed Remus Lupin like the Sun misses the flower in the cruel, cold Winter that his absence had banished her too. Though it was mid-Summer it was no better than a bitterly cold Winter in Robyn's eyes. As far as she was concerned her life wasn't worth the living without Remus.
She closed her eyes and lent back onto their old front door and she began singing the words to a sweet little song called 'On My Own'.
'And now I'm all alone again,
Nowhere to go no one to talk to,
Without a home without a friend,
Without a face to say 'hello' too,
And now the night is near,
And I can make believe he's here...
On my own, pretending he's beside me,
All alone I walk with him till morning,
Without him I feel his arms around me,
And when I lose my way I close my eyes and he has found me...
In the rain, the pavement shines like silver,
All the lights are misty in the river,
In the darkness the trees are full of starlight,
And all I see is him and me forever and forever...
And I know it's only in my mind,
That I'm talking to myself and not to him,
And although I know that he is blind,
Still I say there's a way for us...
I love him, but when the night is over,
He is gone, the river's just a river,
Without him the world around me changes,
The trees are bare and everywhere the streets,
Are full of strangers...
I love him but everyday I'm learning,
All my life I've only been pretending,
Without me his world will go on turning,
A world that's full of happiness that I have never known...
I love him...
I love him...
I love him...' she sighed softly.
'But only on my own...' she finished, she opened her eyes, sighed sweetly and began daydreaming, once again, of Remus...
