Thud. Thud. Thud.
Julia Lupin looked up from her book -The Lord Of The Rings- as the loud thuds upon her front door became louder. Pale blonde hair fell about her shoulders, blue eyes shadowed by a frown.
"Who on Earth could that be?" She asked herself quietly, placing the book down and standing up. Long, pale blue dress billowed slightly about her bare feet, giving her an Elfin look.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
Stepping gracefully through the living room's door, Julia walked up to her front door. The dark shadow through the misted window in the door stared back at her, and then knocked, making her jump. Her frown deepened. Sighing softly, Julia opened the door slightly, deep blue eyes gazing through the small gap. She leapt back, her heart thudding.
"Julia!" The man on the other side of the door rasped. "Julia, let me in!" Julia shook her head, wide eyes staring.
"No! Stay out." She cried, slamming the door on the man's hand. A yell of pain came from the man, and the door was thrust open. Julia screamed and leapt away up the stairs, dress flying about her legs, bare feet making hardly any noise.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
The man's heavy boots thudded as he ran up the stairs, rasping loudly: "Julia! Come out, Julia!" Dark leather coat hid the man well, as if he was in the shadows. But Julia had known the once smiling face. Even though the man had no hair, and two scars down his face, Julia still knew who he was.
"Julia! Julie-aaaah, don't run!" the man called softly, stepping onto the landing.
"Romeo, go away!" Julia shrieked, slamming the bathroom door shut and locking it. Romeo Lupin stopped, grinning. From his pocket he pulled a small box, and slid it open before taking a match stick from it.
"Here's to you, Julia." He laughed, stricking the match and dropping it onto the carpeted floor. Flames began to eat at the carpet, crackling as they reached to the bathroom door.
Laughing, Romeo strode towards Remus' room, Romeo glanced inside with something like disgust. Sighing softly, Mr. Lupin leapt down the stairs and out the front door, careful to close it behind him. Running a hand over his bald head, he strolled down the street. He glanced back as the windows burst, and the now-large flames leapt out, flicking on the wind.
Turning back, Romeo strolled down the street. He didn't turn as a scream ripped through the air.
