The peace and quiet was almost overwhelming. Her eyelids hid her emerald orbs from the world as she laid back in the lush grass of the school grounds. It wasn't unusual to see Miss Lily Evans out in the sunshine, but perhaps it was more unusual because she didn't appear to have a book anywhere around her. (-gasp-) Her legs were bared in a mid-thigh skirt (-gaspy gasp-) and she wore a forest green top. Her coppery hair lay spread on the grass as she simply lay there, soaking up the sun. Sundays, don't you just love 'em? No homework, no classes, and no noise as most people had gone to Hogsmeade for a day trip.
Lily was one of the few who had decided to stay behind and wander blissfully in the calmness that lingered after 4/7 of the year groups vanished to the all-wizarding village. She'd ended up going on a walk around the lake and then literally flinging herself on the ground in front of the glistening water. The third year assumed her peers would be back soon, considering it was late afternoon, and they'd break the silence, the calm and she'd go back to the common room, sit in front of the fire and end up talking about nothing in particular. The only two peole Lily wouldn't mind coming to see her today were Remus and Anya. Remus would realise she wanted peace and quiet and would probably just sit down. His presence would be enough, just for her to know he was there was comforting. Anya? Well, Anya would make her laugh and then she'd get up and be full of energy and they could go do something crazy together.
But that wasn't how it worked. Lily assumed they'd all gone to Hogsmeade, afterall, she herself loved the little town. So full of life and energy, so much like Hogwarts. Yet here she was, lying on a patch of grass near the lake, shoes off and bag flung on the ground. So unlike Lily, but it didn't matter. Afterall,
There's nobody here that knows me. She thought.
(Dun dun dun...crappeh but I wanted a Lily post and I was feeling all wo0o0Oo and stuff....uh yeah. xD)

Messing up his already untidy jet black hair, James Potter stepped out of the entrance doors of Hogwarts, a light sigh escaping his lips. His hazel hued eyes squinted slightly as they adjusted to the bright sunlight as he scanned the grounds for one scarlet haired, emerald eyed angel.
It was a very nice day, rays of basking, golden sun poured along the grounds, and it was the warmest day James had seen in a while. Pity he wouldn't be spending this nice day in the lovely village of Hogsmeade.
Why? James is of age to go to Hogsmeade, why can't he go? You might ask. Well, it's simple. After the rare occasion of being /caught/ setting off a Dungbomb yesterday, Filch had announced that the Marauders Four were suspended from the next Hogsmeade trip.
Still, if James wanted to go to Hogsmeade, he could always fall underneath his invisibility cloak and take one of the secret passageways he had stumbled upon and traced in the Marauders' Map.
Alright, do you want the real reason of why James Potter, who usually would be buying Zonko's itself by now was staying at Hogwarts? The answer was simple, he had heard from a little birdie that Lily Evans was not going to the trip this time, as she wanted to relax.
Oh, yes, James would allow her to relax... Oh please, I hope you noticed the sarcasm drowning in that sentence. James didn't annoy Evans on purpose, it was only that she kept on saying /no/ when he asked her out. Three Words: "Stop. Denying. It." Yes, James was sure that Lily Evans liked him. For Merlin's sake, who wouldn't? He was particularly handsome, an athlete, and popular? Most girls would fall right at his feet if he asked them out. But Lily wasn't most girls...that's what James loved about her...
And as usual, James had found the person that he was tempted to see. He saw Evans, lounging as she lay in the grass close to the lake. And James let himself indulge into that temptation as he slid his hands into his robes pockets and swaggered over to where Lily was. (Yes, James did realize that it was Sunday, he was allowed to wear anything that he liked, and that it was blazing hot outside. Unforunately for him, he didn't have anything else clean. So, he had to deal with that Hogwarts uniform for a day.
James plopped himself on the grass next to Evans, his arms placing themselves against the grass behind him as his robes slid off of his shoulders, revealing him in the usual white button up shirt, but unusually, he had no scarlet and gold tie. "Hello, Evans," James said softly, trying to make his voice as deep and mature as possible to impress the lady. The lady who was dressed extremely beautiful today. Nope, James didn't fail to notice Lily's more revealing articles of clothing. But James never said he didn't like it either.
{{Nah, Lils. It so was not crap. -points to her post- That is the perfect example of "crap".}}

'I am a Seer!' She thought as she felt Remus come and sit beside her. 'Didn't I just say that..'
Hey Evans.
Damn it!
Lily's emerald eyes shot open as she raised an eyebrow at the boy laying beside her. "And, what, might I ask, do you think you're doing?" She asked as she pushed herself up onto her elbows, tugging her skirt down, hoping to cover as much skin as possible. "You're meant to be in Hogsmeade single handedly keeping Zonko's in business." She said as she laid back down, wriggling a little further away from the fellow Gryffindor and poked him in the shoulder.
This was not what was meant to happen. She was meant to relax, not have to ward Potter off, again. This was not what Sundays were meant to be like. She was supposed to relax and be able to just do whatever she wanted, away from judging eyes.
Yeah, like that would happen at Hogwarts.
(Actually, dear. I rather liked your intro post. -Claps.- xD It was very .. Jamesy. )

James finally took the energy to turn his head to actually to a good look at Evans from behind his round spectacles.
Exhaling deeply, James put on somewhat of a twisted grin as Lily stated what she had inferred. Ah, Evans, James is a very 'spontaneous' person, you shouldn't infer anything about him.
Being prodded in the shoulder caused James to jump a little, his glasses falling slightly crooked now, he hadn't been expecting that. "You see, Evans," James enunciated, trying his best to sound exasperated, but failing. "Filch caught me setting off a Dungbomb yesterday, so he banned me from this Hogsmeade trip." James voice trailed off then, and he sighed once more, trying his best to sound disappointed. After a short pause of silence, James opened his mouth once again. "But oh, well," he said tonelessly, "Maybe you and I can set up a little date now. Care to take a little stroll along the lake, Evans?" he asked in somewhat of a deep, mature tone, attempting to slip in that hourly inquiry to go out with him as subtlely as possible.

Lily scoffed at his response and placed a hand over her heart in mock pity. "Such a shame that you got busted, 'eh?" She said sarcastically as she rolled her green eyes beneath her eyelids, that were slowly closing again. "You know what, Potter? How about no? I don't want to go for a stroll around the lake, I don't want to talk to you in that stupid tone of voice and I don't want to go on a date with you. Cleared that up? Good."
She said as she sighed and picked herself off the grass and took a few steps closer to the lake, kicking a pebble into the murky depths, causing ripples to disturb the previously glass-like surface. Trust 'Golden Boy' to come and spoil her lovely afternoon.

A smirk formed on the messy haired boy's lips as he noted Lily's sarcasm. With a slight bow of head, he tilted his head to the side slightly as an oasis-like breeze flew through the area. The way his sticky up, raven colored hair seemed to billow right when James' head moved almost seemed like it was perfection. As if James had planned it himself.
"Oh, yes," James agreed in somewhat of a mocking tone. "A /real/ pity."
And now for the fireworks... James couldn't help thinking those five words as Lily began the monologue she enunciated towards him every day in a slightly different form. And that little speech she always made was, indeed, a big mistake. James has given her a once-in-a-lifetime chance every single day since first year, a chance to go out with him. How could she deny? That girl was odd sometimes, but beautiful nonetheless.
"Aww, Evans, I know you don't mean that," James said in a heartful tone, his grin growing wider. Compliment her on something... And James knew exactly what he would compliment dear Evans on. Her outfit, it /was/ about time that Lily put on something a bit more...form-fitting.
"Evans, by the way, you look gorgeous in those clothes," James said coolly as he began to pick blades of grass of the brightest green variety. "They flatter your eyes."
Ah, this was about as fun as setting Snivelly on fire, actually, probably more. Evans, you /are/ to die for.

"You just keep telling yourself that." She murmered as he denied her latest rebuke. She shook her red mane of hair, strands being picked up in the wind and toyed with in the warm air. Her whole body shivered in the breeze, goosebumps appearing on her arms as she played with grass beneath her feet.
His 'compliment' reached her ears and her head shot up. She felt her cheeks grow hot, from embarrassment or anger she couldn't tell, she settled for the latter. She knew full well that it was meant in good fun, but she seriously doubted he meant to compliment her 'eyes.' Even without facing him she could almost hear the smug grin in his voice.
"Shut up, Potter. Since when do you take notice of what I'm wearing?" She asked as she threw another stone with a 'plop' into the glimmering lake. Now she was embarrassed. Nobody was supposed to be here! Let alone Potter. Of all people he would be the one to come and talk to her. Typical. She kicked another rounded stone into the water, watching as the ripples expanded.

James watched as Evans continued to throw rocks into the lake, breaking its water and causing a great variety of ripples to expand at its pressure point.
James, the very observant boy that he is, didn't fail to notice Lily shivering when the breeze came through. Perhaps he should offer her his robes. Or not. He knew she wasn't going to accept them anyway.
Lily's retort to what James had said about her outfit seemed to startle him. Jumping slightly, his glasses grew even more crooked, but James felt too lazy to fix them so they lay straight. James had always thought that girls liked it when you complimented them. Perhaps not.
"Evans," James said softly, "For Merlin's sake. I was /complimenting/ you. You don't need be on your guard all the bloody time." A light frown formed on James' face only so that he could subdue the smirk that was going to appear on to his carefree face.

Lily bristled at his comment. She didn't put up walls did she? She didn't block people out. Well, actually she did but only to people who deserved it.
"I'm not on my guard all the time, Potter. And would you watch your language? You're setting an example to the younger students." She said with a roll of her eyes as she began the long walk to the castle. She didn't have to listen to Potter going on and on. She most certainly did /not/ build up walls, and she was definately not on her guard all the time. Just quite a lot of it.

As Lily stood to walk away, James couldn't help but smirk at Lily's reaction, she almost seemed /worried/ that James had said that she put her guard up. That girl worries about everything, doesn't she? James slid his robes back on to his shoulders.
Then James let a sigh escape his smooth, thin lips, pushing himself on to his feet as he quickly trailed Lily. He caught up to Evans easily, as the tall boy obviously had longer legs than the petite scarlet haired girl.
"Bloody, bloody, bloody, bloody," James spoke in a sing-song tone, the carefree glint in his eyes growing larger, flattering his hazel optics. "Oi, Evans, did I mention...'bloody'? We're third years, lower end of the food chain. The older kids are supposed to giving a good example to /us/. And even if we were older, 'bloody' isn't 'bad' language, per se. It's just...somewhat offensive to little kids."
And after he finished his statement, James gave Lily a little bow of head, flaunting off his authentic white-toothed smile as he thrust his hands into his robes pockets.

Lily's face slowly reddened as Potter continued his rant, as he stopped and flashed her his smile. God that boy was a pain in the backside!
"Why don't you just shut it, Potter?" She demanded angrily as she rounded on him, causing her plan to ignore him to dissolve completely. "It's those 'little kids' that I worry for. With you spouting off words like that."
She considered what he said and replied cooly. "Okay so it's not /really/ rude but it's not the most pleasant language on a Sunday afternoon. Although, hard though it may seem, there are some of us who don't want to hear your whiny voice at all." She added thoughtfully as her eyes narrowed at him, her voice steady, for now, as she rose one eyeborw at him and looked him up and down, thoroughly unimpressed.

{{Poor Lils. And nobody is coming to save her from the evil Jamesy-poo.}}
Hah. James knew that he could have Lily stop ignoring him at some point, he just needed to press on, and press on. And that' s what Mister James Prongs Potter did best, he was very stubborn like that.
"Nonsense, Evans," James stated, his grin growing even wider. "Everyone loves me, and wants to hear my not-so-whiny voice, even you. I know it. And hell, I don't blame you, if I were you I'd love me, too." James was growing restless of not doing anything with his hands, so he pulled them out of his pockets and folded them across his chest, just for the sake of arm movement. Damn, he wished for a Snitch right now. Someday he would steal one of those delicate, golden Quidditch balls just to toy around with when he was bored.
"So, where're you headed?" James inquired as he continued to trail Lily around, "You sure that you don't want to go to Hogsmeade with me. I'll buy you a Butterbeer, or even a Firewhiskey if you're feeling up to it."
James had the feeling that Lily was going to say no, just like always, but he had try. She didn't know what he was offering her...that was a plain shame.

A voice called out across the grounds. "OI! Potter! You pestering my best friend again?" Yes, Anya was here to save the day! She hadn't been in Hogsmead at all, rather inside working on something. Her long brunette hair floated slightly behind her, as she strode across the grounds. It was common knowledge that Anya called herself 'Lily's Bodyguard' when it came to Potter. {{ick. Lily laughed bitterly, at his stupidity or his comment? Even she wasn't sure. At his offer of going to Hogsmeade, again, she shook her head as her body stopped shaking with laughter. "Look Potter," She growled, her eyes darkening as she took a step towards him, "I don't know how many times I have to say this to you to get it through your thick skull, but I will say it again. No! Not. Now. Not. Ever. Got that? Now bugger off and find some other person to annoy the hell out of, why don't you?" She asked with a cold sarcastic smile that didn't reach her flashing eyes.
Lily didn't break eye contact with 'Pothead' as she so affectionately nicknamed him as she heard Anya's yell rip through the grounds. Thank God someone was here to save her. "Hey Anya." Lily said to the girl over her shoulder as she heard her approach.
