She had waited her entire life for this day. Most girls did. They spent their time plotting and planning, just dreaming about the day they would walk down the aisle with their true love. And Kai Charlton was defiantly Anya’s true love. Her soul mate. She didn’t think she’d ever be able to live without him.
The wedding was turning out beautiful, as well. The bridesmaids were wearing silky red or blue dresses, and the groomsmen had matching shirts with their tuxes. Her Maid of Honor, Lily Evans, had a golden dress that contrasted nicely with her hair, and the best man, Remus Lupin had a light grey shirt. These represented their house colours- Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. And as for Anya? She looked amazing.
An ivory, sleeveless gown, with gold and pearl coloured embroidery on the top, with a long skirt that went down to the floor is what she wore. Her long chestnut hair had blonde and red highlights put in, and every few strands there were small flower shaped crystal clips. Blue eyes were bright with excitement, and her face was adorned with the lightest bit of makeup. She had a small veil that went down to her elbows, attached to a small gold and crystal tiara.
Everything was going perfectly. Kai had finished her vows, and Anya was starting on hers.
“When I first laid eyes on you, that cold winter evening, I knew you would be the one. When I was lying there in your arms, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life like that. Curled up, warm in your embrace. And so I have. We’ve been through a lot. Death-eaters, near death experiences, and more. And there is certainly more to come. And I, Anyankta Marie Delioncour, would be honored to spend the rest of my life with you, Kai Charlton.”
Right before he put the ring on her finger, someone in the crowd stood up. There were close to two hundred people there. Most of which was Kai’s family, friends from school, and Order Members. So how this particular person got in, she wasn’t sure. It was Nirak Dragon. Her mortal enemy. Sauntering up close the Alter, Anya noticed a big, black gun in his hands. “I thought I should give you your present a bit early. Bang Bang, Bitch.” He smirked, and the gun fired into Anya’s stomach.
“It’s a pity I can’t stay and watch you die, but I know when I’m not wanted.” Moments later, Nirak disappeared with a ‘pop’. The crowd went wild.
In seconds, the whole front of Anya’s dress was soaked with blood. She fell back against the alter, hands on her wound. Blood was pouring over them, as well. Kai appeared to be in shock for a moment. “Anya!” He cried out, kneeling to her side, along with several brides-maids. “Back off! Give her room!” The groom choked out. But he knew it wouldn’t do any good.
It hadn’t even been two months since this had last happened. Anya’s system couldn’t handle another shot. She was already growing pale, cold. “No! NO GOD FUCKING DAMNIT!” He screamed, a slight Spanish accent mixing with his words. “I promised you we’d be married, and we will damn it!” Whimpering softly, biting back sobs, he slipped the ring onto her bloodied hand, glancing at Dumbledore, as if saying ‘Finish it up, old man!” With a sigh, Albus said the final words in Latin, binding the two in holy matrimony.
The blonde male finally let his tears flow, as he leaned down, kissing his new wife. “Anya, I love you…”
“Love you too, Kai,” She murmured. And with that, all signs of life disappeared from her body, taking Kai’s sanity with it.
Three Years Later
It was three years since that fateful day. Three years since her true love killed himself, and his wife died. Here in this very church, at this very Altar. If you looked really closely at the carpet, you could still see the blood. Three years since Celestia’s ‘Best friend’ had ruined her life.
And now she was getting married to a man she didn’t love, didn’t know. It wasn’t fair. It should have been her that died. That way Anya could’ve married Kai happily. And then Celestia would have been free of the pain she was going through.
The blonde haired girl sat on her knees, not caring if she dirtied her wedding dress. She had to say goodbye, just one last time.
It wasn’t long before she started crying softly.
“I’m sorry your lives were ended so abruptly… so sadly. I may not have liked you, Anya, but you were better for Kai than I ever would have been. At least now you can both be together in piece, with no death eaters coming after you. I’m sure I’ll be taking my place in death soon enough- After all. I’m sure Lucius will eventually tell Voldemort I’m a spy. Or perhaps my husband-to-be will kill me. He seems the type who just wants my money.
Either way, neither of you would care. You both hate me still- I know it. And I’ll be far away from you anyway. Burning in eternal flame for my many sins. Oh so many, so unforgivable. I wish I could go back and change things. Stop myself from becoming a death eater. Maybe even be your friend. But I suppose I should be grateful for even being graced by your presence. You were wonderful people, who didn’t deserve to die.” A few more tears fell onto the gravestones. The first said ‘In memory of Anyankta Charlton’ Along with the dates. September 14, 1959 to April 20, 1980’. The other had Kai’s name, with the year 1958 to April 21, 1980.
A voice pulled Celestia out of her reverie. “Tia come on! We can’t get started with out you!” Wiping her tears from her eyes, the ex-death-eater dropped the rose to the ground, and stood up. “Coming.” With emotionless eyes, minutes later she walked down the aisle, saying her vows obediently, with a slow monotone voice, as if awaiting her death-sentence. And perhaps she was. Two more years later, after Voldemort had been destroyed, and she had produced an heir, her husband had her murdered without a second thought. The dates on her own gravestone read 1959 to April 20, 1985.
