Lily Evans sat, feeling distracted as she silently ate her toast. Her long, auburn hair had a small flick in the end today, from where she had slept awkwardly. She was actually staring at the Slytherin table, searching for one face in particular, the face of Regulus Black. Her emerald eyes scanned the long table and couldn't see him at first glance but then again it was difficult as Megan Ryder kept trying to wave something in her face, a love letter from someone or something? Whatever it was Lily just smiled and nodded.
One of Miss Evan's pale hands was clasping a piece of parchment herself, this however was not a love letter. It was a beautiful picture of an angel, an angel with red hair and emerald eyes, similar to her own. In the corner of the piece of paper was a written message, where Lily had thought a signature would be placed there was a note instead 'thank you' was all it said and so Lily had not known who had drawn this picture and sent it to her by owl.
That was until, Remus Lupin and Lily had talked out in the grounds as they watched the sun rise together. Lily had shown Remus the picture and he had identified it as Regulus' work so Lily had tried to find him, to thank him for it. So here was the 13 year old Gryffindor, her green eyes scanning the Slytherin table for a particular face while her own long table chattered around her.
The toast on her plate grew cold as she continued to look from the picture to the Slytherin table and back again, a small smile playing about the corners of her pink lips. She was wearing her school robes and a Gryffindor scarf was wrapped around her pale neck, after her little wander around the lake this morning she had forgotten to take it off and was still a little cold from spending almost 2 hours out in the chill air.
Tracing the picture with a slim finger, Lily smiled. The drawing was of an angel, which was the outfit she had worn to the dance, what a coincidence! As she followed the coloured picture with her finger she realised something; her white gloves were still outside, sitting on the dewy grass. Sighing she decided to treat herself to a new pair when she next went to Hogsmeade. Yay!
