Remus woke me up last night... Screaming, he was. It really scared me! Not something somebody usually gets scared about, but... seeing one of your best friends thrashing around in bed, unable to talk... well it scared me...
I think there must be something wrong with him, an illness or No. Scratch that - he only gets nightmares. Besides, it's none of my business.

On a lighter note, I got quite a good mark on my Transfiguration essay. It was on animagi. They're really interesting. I've never spent so much time in the library before! I'd like to become one myself - an animagus - a dog, like my name. That'd be great.

Got to go - I'm supposed to be doing some sort of Divination chart. I'll either copy off of Remus or get James to help me make some stuff up. There's a limt as to how far my imagination can stretch!

I can't believe it. It's too much to take in. I can't even write about it. It's so hard. My best fr One of my best friends is a werewolf. He dreamt about killing my other best friend.

Remus is a werewolf. It doesn't sound right. But he is. And Dumbledore knows... all the teachers know, or so it seems. And I sleep in the same room as him, I have done every night for two years.

I don't know what to do. He's my friend, but... and I shouted at him, when he told me what the deam was about. I called him a freak. And he agreed with me.

But he's not a freak. He's my friend. My freaky friend. I hate him for not telling me. He should have told us. My friend is a werewolf. I can't change it.

He's such a good friend. I don't want to lose him - I shall have to do what I can. Maybe I can help him. We could find a cure! I just don't want to get bitten.

I always knew there was something strange. But I didn't expect this. Everything fits. Everything.

I said I'd stick by him, whatever. I said that ages ago. But now the time has come. Can I do it? I have to do it. I promised. I don't break promises.

Me and Remus have made up. I think. It's still really wierd. I don't know how James'll cope. He was standing in the dorm watching everything and I can honestly say I don't know how he feels.

Ah well... I think Remus feels better now somebody knows. It's going to be quite tough keeping it a secret though!

Aaarch! Someone's been writing in my journal! And they're a girl! Noooo! All my innermost thoughts are in here! Not that I have many of them...

Nothing much happened today. I fell out of a tree. Tried to save myself with that stupid levitating charm - but I know I would have gotten it incorrect. I have no idea why, but my brain seems to have some sort of... of barricade to prevent me from memorising the words properly.

Ok, I'm back. I had to find Remus. I was talking aloud as I wrote my journal, and then it began to levitate. I don't know the counter spell.

Yeah. So I fell out of a tree - I was up there earwigging on Remmykins and his new girlfriend. I dunno what her name is... Harmony something. She probably told me somewhere along the line.

And the second major thing that happened was.... (DRUMROLL HERE) SOMEBODY WROTE IN MY JOURNAL!
How could they? I'm gonna kill the person that did it.... some girl. It has to be. Grrrr.

HAH! I regained my composure after falling out of the tree.
Setting James on fire has to be one of the funniest, most spectacular things I've ever done!
I think it impressed that Rywood girl too. She'll probably be jumping after me like everyone else soon. Or maybe James.
She is quite good looking, I suppose. Quite bookwormish though.

Anyway. I accompanied Lupin to the library and called him Moony by accident. I suppose it suits him really, the name I mean.

Oh - and I moved Archie from the owlery. His new abode is the drawer in my dorm. How is it that Remus and James let me leave him there for so long?!

How is it they knew that owls eat rats and I didn't?!

Ratboy. RATboy! Can you believe it?! That's what Remus and Sadie have taken to calling me.

I don't mind. Much. It's just that it dredges up painful memories of the first train ride. When I (I can't believe I'm admitting this), when I fancied Sadie Butley.

Note the -ed. I don't fancy her any more. I don't fancy anyone. It's just fun to flirt with the girls. They're like puppies anyway, all of them follow me or James around.

Yeah... so we were having breakfast and the two of them started calling me Ratboy! Remus also told me that they're starting to hunt down werewolves. And they're situating the hunters around Hogwarts. Not good. For Moony, I mean.

I pushed Remus off his chair and.... kissed Sadie. On the nose. Bad idea, I know. It was to punish her, nothing more. Ratboy! God, I hate that name!

Hhahaaaha! You should have seen Sadie's face. Absolutely hilarious. She's now terrified that my admirers will attack her......

YES! I'll finally be able to escape those screaming girls!

Moony cam up with the idea of my becoming an animagus today! How incredible would that be?! He's going to help me, and I'm going to ask James if he wants to join in....

Oh yeah - Sadie's going to teach me doxi boxing. It's a muggle sport where they just punch each other.

I've calmed down a bit.

He asked me to go and get ingredients 'cos he can't get to Hogwarts. The f-er wants them. I'm not getting them.

Mind you, I did feel sorry for Regulus when I told him that... he seems genuinely terrified of the p-ents.

I don't know why he turned out like he did. He used to go everywhere wit me. We'd to everything together. He looked up to me. Admired me. And then it all stopped. I do miss him. Sort of. Reggy. My little brother.

Well that's all gone now. I have to forget about it. Like I said.

I can't believe it. Sadie returned my stuff today. A first year had stolen loads of my things and made a shrine with them - Sadie brought the stuff back.

But the worst thing is, the bloody first year didn't stop with books.

Sadie doesn't know who is reading her diary. I think she's beginning to get annoyed. I'll read a li The person will probably read it a little more and then stop. By then she'll be really annoyed.

It's so interesting though! And she mentions me quite a bit... I don't mention her half as much!
