The Hospital Wing was, and no pun intended, dead quiet. Only one student occupied it, and he didn't move. Just sat there, propped up against the pillows, staring blankly at the wall. He'd had no visitors as of yet- all too busy with homework and such. But for some reason, the silence calmed him. Calmed his senses, telling him that he was okay.
His right hand suddenly flared with pain, and he winced. Stupid thing, couldn't it heal properly? But somewhere inside of him, he knew that it would never heal properly. Remus John Lupin- his life a never-ending battle. But then, wasn't everyones'? Everyone had to fight, sometimes winning sometimes loosing. A never-ending battle.
Remus sighed softly, leaning his head back against the pillows, amber eyes closing. He'd tried to forgive Regulus- tried to make himself feel that it wasn't the boy's fault. But the conclusion was always the same: Regulus had nearly killed him. He sighed again, opening his eyes and glancing down to the long scar which now ran along his right hand.
It wasn't Regulus' fault, Remus thought. It was mine. He looked about him, wondering where Madam Pomfrey had gone to. The room seemed so much smaller than it normally did. But didn't that happen when someone was alone in a room? That the walls grew smaller, until the person went insane? Remus laughed softly, shaking his head, "I won't go insane."

In the quiet of the hospital wing, now soft footsteps could be heard. It was Anya Delioncour, and she had a small pile of books in her arms. "Hello... Remus?" She called into the emptyness, before she saw the shadow of him on the wall. She picked up the pace. "Hullo Remus.... Professer McGonnagal told me to bring you your homework.... No idea why. You shouldn't have to do work when your hurt."
Anya hated hospitals and the hospital wing anyway, but something about the quiet was unnerving. "Wheres MAdam Pomfrey anyway?" She asked, setting the books on the table next to the bed.

Remus looked up, amber eyes illuminated against his pale complextion. "Hey Anya," he greeted, the ghost of a smile appearing on his face. "Homework, eh? Nice of you to bring it to me. And as for Madam Pomfrey..." Remus paused for a moment, thinking of a way to put 'she buggered off' in nice terms. "She's busy somewhere else."

She nodded. "Right. Must be loads to do in an empty Hospital wing....then again someone might've gotten hurt....doubtful." She was quiet for a moment. "So why are you here, anyway. I've only heard some rumors, and I'm not sure if they are true, since I wasn't there.... Of course, if you don't wanna say, you don't have too," She added quickly.

His brows furrowed. "Rumors?" he asked. "Mind telling me them? I haven't heard what stories are going around about me. It'd be nice to catch up." Remus chuckled softly, leaning his head back against the pillows again; amber pools staring, half-closed, up at the white ceiling.

"Well there's once about you getting into a duel with a Slytherin.... And then theres you getting attacked by the Whomping Willow. They are all rather outrageous. But then, what would Hogwarts be with out rumors?" Anya smirked.

A duel with a Slytherin, Remus thought, smiling softly. How close and yet so far away could they be? He turned his gaze back to Anya, smile vanishing as he shook his head softly. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you," Remus answered, his voice a quiet whisper. "But that depends on where the barrier is on what you believe in."

"Try me. I believe almost anything... please? It's really been bugging me, and if you don't wish me too, I won't tell anyone else!" She knew she sounded like a little girl, but it upset her that anything or anyone would hurt such a kind gentle person.

"Fine, I shall," Remus replied, in that same soft, whisper-like voice. "But first tell me... What is your image of me? What, in your Mind's Eye, do you see me as? Say, when you're nowhere near me, and you wish; for some unknown reason, to summon an image of me up into your mind, what do you see?" His head had tilted slightly, auburn locks falling into his eyes. In Remus' mind, his own image was a girl standing alone with snow falling about her. And the girl was like glass- graceful and easy to brake. But inside there was fierce strength and loyalty.

"Thats a bit of a strange question...." She thought a moment on how to answer it. "I see you standing near the lake. Looking calm, relaxed. But somehow there is a look of power in your expression. Strength and a little pride as well.... almost.... wolflike," she finished. However, she didn't know how wolflike he really was.

Remus smiled softly. "You don't realise how close to the truth you are. But anyway, why I'm in the Hospital Wing." Remus paused for a moment, wondering how to put it for the girl who barely knew anything about him. He didn't want to hurt Anya- as the truth probably would hurt her, but she needed to know. "I was in some ways 'attacked'."

"Attacked! How,why?" She was confused. "Why would anyone...or anything for that matter, attack you?" ((OoC: Gah! writers block...taken over.... nooo! BiC||))

"I don't think it's my place to say who, but I can say why," Again, Remus paused. He had to be careful- couldn't let Anya know everything. Especially who was there. "I..." tears had welled up in his wide amber eyes, and he raised his chin, blinking furiously. Remus didn't have a clue as to why he had been over come by emotions, but he had. "I'm a werewolf."

She took a deep breath. "That explains everything..."Anya whispered. His going out for three days near or on the full moon... his always looking sick... His eyes, those unnatural Amber eyes...and also, why she related him to a wolf. ((I think I use elipses way to much. Time for a support group. )
