{Random story. Read it and find out what it's about. xD Because it's random, there's no site to host it. So... -Points below-}
"Come on, don't die on me! Not now!"
The sound of a male's voice barely peirced his mind, was barely heard, barely recognised. He was shifting from worlds inside his head, stuck in a room filled with tendril-like thoughts. The world around him changed suddenly, and he was stood, alone, by a lake. Fog misted the air, and a light frost and ice glittered over the lake. This was too familiar.
"Tobias! Come on, Tobias-- don't die!"
/Tobias.../ That word. What did it mean? Yes, it was his name. A word of slight importance. /Don't die.../ What did that mean? He was dying? Such a new experience this was. Death. Already he could feel a peace and comfort decending upon him.
"Tobias! .... Doctor-- something's wrong!"
The distant memory of his spine tingled, as electric bolts ran through his body. He couldn't feel anything, only distantly. And who was this person that kept yelling at him, disturbing his sleep, trying to bring him back to a world of pain and suffering? He wished for nothing more than for them to leave.
"TOBIAS!!"
He smiled a soft, content smile to himself as the world around him vanished, and he was slipping away into darkness. The voice that had been trying to pull him back to Life was growing fainter, though he could hear a loud panic rising in the voice. Finally he could sleep without being annoyed by that voice.
Darkness surrounded him, beckoning him. No voice now. Nothing. He was falling slowly, oh so slowly. And unravelling at the same time. Soon he would be gone.
/Slipping... Slipping... Slipping./
/Gone./
~*~
Doctors came and went, trying to comfort him, but he barely noticed them. His eyes remained dry, refused to let slip the tears which he desperately wanted to cry. His throat wouldn't allow him to speak, nor to swallow. A man came up -someone the doctors had called to 'help' Ace- to him, placed a hand upon his shoulder.
He snarled, pushing the hand away furiously. He only had eyes for his dead lover, lying there, a tiny, tiny smile upon that lightly-tanned face; and such a look of peace and comfort that only the dead can reach.
"I'm here to help you."
He ignored the man's voice, fixing only upon the most recent memory he had.
/He had asked Tobias to be his mate./
/Forever./
And Tobias and him had barely got out of the front door when that black car had mounted the pavement, screeching towards them. Of course he had been able to get out of the way. But Tobias... He could still see that mixed look upon Tobias's face as his legs were caught in the wheels of the car.
/Sorrow. Fear. And then realisation./
/His time had come./
~*~
And then the tears rolled down his face, misting his sight which remained fixed upon Tobias. The man had left, knowing that his help wouldn't be accepted. And Ace was alone to grieve.
Alone,
Forever and Always.
