Selena relaxed into one of th eoverstuffed chairs in the corner of the library, the ones under the windows. Curling up with one of her favorite books was a passtime she cherished. With several younger siblings at hime, Hogwarts allowed her times of peace that children didn't seem to understand. The think volume in her lap was none other than Hogwarts, A History, which she had read many times. She was fascinated by history, and athough HIstory of Magic class was the most boring, history books were among her favorites.
All that she needed was something to drink, but she had been scolded by Madame Pince for that at least once a year, and she had been threatened with expulsion from the library. She chuckeled softly to herself at that thought, lost in her own little world.

James Potter. In the library again. What was this??
He sighed and ran a hand through his hair (a habit he couldn't lose). His hazel eyes scanned the rows of books for the familiar face of Remus Lupin- he had to be here.
Well, he didn't have to be there it's just he wasn't any where else.
He didn't really expect to see Sirius Black any where around the library- unless he was truly, truly bored. Like James was.
He hadn't seen his friends in an age- he'd caught a glimpse of Lily- but not really spoke to any one since that thing with Grace. He blushed in embarrasment as he remembered that incident.
Sighing once more he flopped himself down in a seat near a window, a few feet away from a third year Ravenclaw he didn't really know.

Humming softly 'neath his breath, he strolled slowly along the rows of books, hands behind his back; eyes looking at each and every title of each and every book he saw. None interested him at all. Which was strange, but he didn't care. Right now, he was hoping Lily Evans had spoken with James and cleared a few things out. He sighed, suddenly spotting James through a hole where a large book should've been. Edging slowly 'round the row, he took a step towards James. "Hi." Remus murmered.

Lily Evans meandered through the shelves of books in the library, letting her slim hand glide along the spines of the aged texts. She didn't know what it was about the library but she was almost drawn to it. She truly loved any time she spent in there, it was like a second common room, she loved the sight of all those unread books, like adventures in themselves, the sound of silence and the smell of the dusty pages. She finally stopped at a particular charms book and pulled it gently from it's resting place. Flicking it open to the first page, Lily ran her emerald eyes over the first few lines, quickly absorbing the words written in curly calligraphy.
She leant against the large book case as she continued to read, oblivious to anyone or anything around her, purely concentrating on the words themselves and how they were gradually increasing her knowledge of her favourite subject. She'd always had a knack for charms, but her wand may have had something to do with that. Lily irately pushed rogue strands of copper hair from her eyes as she continued to flick through page after page, becoming hungrier for the information the text contained.

James' back stiffened as he heard Remus' voice. This was the last person he wanted to speak to... And yet Remus had been his friend for so long.
"Hey," he said, non-commitedly, picking up a random book and pretended to be interested. He thought back- he'd come here to look for Remus- and now he'd found him. "You ok?" He asked, in tight tones.

“No,” Remus sighed. “I’m not okay. I can’t stand both you and Sirius ignoring me. You are –were- my best friends. And I /swear/ I never meant to hurt you or anything.” Thankfully, Madam Pince was elsewhere, so they weren’t going to be eavesdropped on. He brushed back auburn locks out of his pale face, unsure of what to say now. He really liked being friends with James and Sirius- they were exciting and fun, and not to mention loyal. Or… They had been.

James tried not to sneer, he really did, remembering that Lily had kissed Remus.
Not that that made anything better. Worse infact. What did Remus have that he didn't? Apart from a brain, manners and feelings for Sirius.
Ooh, catty, he thought to himself, immediently feeling bad. That wasn't fair- not really. But then that senario reminded him how close he'd been to getting Evans. Now he never could. And it was partly his own fault.
Heaving a sigh he gave a non-commited shrug at Remus. They had been friends- they were friends, but James was upset and he couldn't just get over what had happened.

Remus watched James, almost hopefully. “Well? Are we friends or what?” He asked softly, again with that glint of hope in his voice as he extended a hand to prove it all. But what would he do if James said ‘no’ and refused to shake Remus’ hand? And would Remus and Sirius still be friends? Or would both Sirius and James ignore Remus? He wasn’t so sure anymore.

James clasped Remus' hand for a second, showing willing even though every fibre in his body was urging him to run away.
But these things had to be done. Why should a girl come between them? Even one as wonderful as Lily? Though she evidently wasn't that wonderful.
Anyway, James took a breath and nodded, "We're friends. Dunno 'bout Sirius." He shrugged and tried to smile, but the scowl was still present on his face.

As he shook James' hands, he smiled softly. "Good. Hopefully Sirius /is/ my friend still. I wouldn't like anyone to come between our friendship. /All of our/ friendships." Remus paused thoughtfully, licking his dry and chewed lips. He could taste blood from his lips. "So..."- he lowered his voice to that of a hushed one, casting a glance around -"Are you still trying to become an /illegal/ Animagus?"
