Voices were conversing in hushed voices all about the library. Students just hanging out, studying, or just there reading for leisure. Ava Allistry, a Gryffindor, just so happened to be studying furiously. There was a Potions' exam coming up in two weeks and she hadn't so much as looked at a Potions book yet! She could hardly believe how lazy she was getting with her studying...>.<

Well, here was a sight you rarely saw, James Potter in the library; not there to stalk Miss. Evans. Had the world gone mad? There he was reading!! A book! THUD. Someone had fainted. James gave them a dissaproving look and scanned through the pages. His eyes hit upon a spell and he grinned, that one'd be a good one to use on Snape. He jotted it down, aware he should be studying. Ah well, he reasoned, Remus might show up here, that meant Sirius might come and with Sirius would be Peter. So, he thought, I have every reason to be here. He nodded to himself and continued scanning the book: Who knows, he thought, I might even be graced with the sight of Miss. Evans...

Emerald eyes peered over the top of a large pile of books as Lily Evans stumbled through the libaray with her study list. She lurched towards an empty table and dumped the books on the surface, the dust erupting from them like a mini volcanoe. Coughing, Lily waved a hand in front of her face to clear her vision and began to flip through the first book. At least this was one place she could get away rom Potter, and she could actually get some work done!

A sigh of relief escaped young Lily's lips as she whipped a quill from her pocket and began to scribble furiously on a piece of parchment. Returning to the book, she tapped the quill on the desk as she thought, a most annoying sound she knew, but it helped her to think even if it did aggravate others. Taking the top book of the pile she opened the second and pulled it onto her lap to read properly. Maybe she'd have time to study again for her potions exam, a small smile played across her face. Her glorious eyes ran over and over the text, line after line, each word being devoured as her growing thirst for knowledge aspired to new levels. Her tapping quill became louder as she struggled with a paragraph, a small frown creasing her brow.

James looked up, by chance prehaps, and caught sight of Lily. Damn, he thought, it now looks like I'm here because of /her/... As if...he thought with a slight grin. He buried himself deeper into the book he was amking notes on and blushed to himself.

Given the chance, I would have killed him. Given the chance, I would have ended his life. But he was my brother, and I couldn't commit such a crime. Albiet, he would have killed me without a moments' hesitation- but he wasn't sane. He wasn't right. He wasn't human.
But the Ministry came, and they put an end to him. Shame- it wasn't his fault. And I argued with them for ages, took them to court and such. Nothing came and helped.
Remus Lupin sighed, closing the book he was reading and resting it upon the table. Not all people were, in a sense, 'evil'. Amber eyes gazed around the Library, spotting James Potter and Lily Evans.

James slumped in his seat, raising his eyes to look surreptitiously at Lily, it was then he spotted Remus. His heart thumped a little as he walked passed Lily to get to his friend 'Alright mate!' he said as he reached Remus 'What are you reading?' he asked, aware he still had his own book in his hand.

“Book,” Remus answered, eyes glittering at the word ‘mate’ as they always did. “Muggle Book from my Mother.” He added, nodding to the closed book in front of him on the table. “And you? What are you reading? For it is strange to see you, of all people, reading James.” Remus questioned.

James nodded 'I too find it quite strange to see these things you call...um..words was it?' he grinned 'I was working, desperate to find something to do, I could not find my friends so I decided to brave the Library with these scary things called books,' he fake shuddered 'Are you here for work or pleasure?' he asked, sitting in a chair, one leg on a table until the Librarian gave him the Look of Death.

“Pleasure,” Remus answered quietly. “I prefer to read in the Library rather than Gryffindor Tower. It’s quieter here, than it is up there.” He smiled softly, putting his book away into his bag. “And anyway, I know you’d rarely come here.”<br>

A tall figure stood by the library door, dark tresses curtaiing a rather handsome face. Muttering under his breath, the figure turned away, pulling a small hand-mirror from his bag.
To many, it may have seemed strange to see a teenage boy clutch a mirror in the corridoor - yet this was no ordinary mirror. Hunching over the smooth glass, the teen began to whisper. "James Potter, where the hell are you?"
As he did so, the glass frosted over - yet only briefly. Within seconds, intricate patterns were etched in the ice before melting slowly away.
Sirius stood still, pressed against a wall, lest the librarian should see him. He had been banned from entering the Holy Book Shrine for a month, following a riot that had previously taken place there - which, truth be told, was mostly his fault. Sighing, the teen looked desperately into the mirror - he only hoped James would have it's twin concealed in his robes.

James jumped as he heard a voice. Frowning he felt inside his robes for the small hand mirror he knew he had there. Hiding it inside his hand he grabbed Remus' sleeve and pulled him out of the Library. He knew the ribbing he'd get if Sirius knew he'd been there..gulp..Working.
'Oi,' he said into the mirror, 'I'm outside the Library with Remus,' he said, earning a few looks from various first years who thought it rather strange James was tlaking to himself...

Remus sniggered softly, seeing the looks James was getting from their fellow students. “He was in the Library,” Remus corrected, laughing slightly in his chuckling manner. “Studying, for that matter.” Nay, Remus couldn’t help but laugh.

"Yeah..." Sirius murmured, "I can see that!" At that moment, the teen stepped forward, collaring both of his friends, grasping the thick, black material of their robes.
"Seeing as I've just seen you walk out!" Sirius shook his head, "I'm ashamed of you, Mr. Potter... studying?" The teen clicked his teeth, "More like studying Miss Evans... a book's got no chance of being studied by you when she's around..."

James gave Remus some rather helpless looks, as if to say 'Don't mention the fact I was studying..Please!'
He grinned at the two girls who were giving him 'What a freak' looks and peered into the mirror again, 'Oi, Black,' he said as the mirror swirled around again. 'And, erm, I was looking for Remus, not studying,' he said to no one in particular.
He was feeling rather hot under the collor!
