Lily ducked into the room, sitting down across from Remus.
"Thanks Remus. How was your summer?"
She asked her question politely, it had been quite a while since she'd last seen him and she felt the need to catch up. Her summer on the other hand, wasn't the most interesting. One eyebrow was raised towards the Slytherin, though nothing was said in return. She couldn't stand the Slytherins and their name calling.

Remus looked at Lily, and then to Kestrel, and finally back to Lily. He considered the question, wondering what the best way to answer it would be. “Well, my summer was absolutely terrible,” he answered finally.

Lily looked towards Remus sympatheticly, wondering why it had been so horrible. He was from a wizzarding family, it couldn't have been too bad.
"It couldn't have been that bad."
She glanced at the Slytherin once again, glarng at her, before turning back towards Remus and smiling brightly.

“It was, trust me,” Remus replied, following Lily’s gaze to Kestrel. “I mean, sure, my Mother’s nice, but it gets lonely in the cottage.” Remus sighed, shrugging slightly. Ah, if only they knew.

Lily shrugged, deciding to just ignore Krestal all together. She noded slightly, understanding his problem.
"Well send me an owl next time you're bored and I'll see if I can visit."
She smiled sweeetly, tryinmg to cheer up the boy. He seemed quite depressed at the moment.

“Sure. You just can’t come ‘round on certain days,” Remus replied, nodding slightly at her. Stop making it so obvious!

She smiled and noded, not quite catching on.
Sounds great.
It would give her something to do to get away from her muggle family. Not that she didn't like them, it was just that they really didn't understand her sometimes.

Remus sighed, leaning back in the chair. He looked at Kestrel, who was silent, watching Lily with a strange interest. “Mumpf… Hephf…” strange sounds came from Remus’ trunk.

Lily eyed the trunk, a bit surprised.
"Umm... Remus... What's up with your trunk?"
She stared at it intently, quite baffled.

Remus, also eyeing the trunk, stood up. “You might want to get out of the compartment for the moment, it’s dangerous.” Remus warned. But it was too late. No matter how fast Lily or Remus could have gotten out of the compartment, they still would be caught in it.
Thinking for the better yet acting for the worst, Remus kicked the lid of his trunk open. Red, blue, yellow and orange sparks flew out from it, emitting loud hissing noises. “Right, Lassie, that’s the last time I travel by your ‘First Class’ express!” a small voice from the trunk yelled.
A twig, thin wooden arms placed on its hips, jumped up from the smoking trunk. Long thorny hair sat in spikes atop the twig’s head, and hazel wooden eyes stared up at the pale Remus. It’s bark held the trace of being varnished many years ago. “And you didn’t even put air holes in it!” the twig yelled. “I would have, if you were alive.” Remus retorted.

Lily glanced at the twig in amazement. In all her herbology classes, she'd never seen anything like that. It was rather strange, though she knew Remus loved herbology and probably knew what it was.
"Umm.. Remus. What on earth is that?"
Her gaze sent upon the twig wondering exactly how dangerous it really was.

Sirius was growing bored now. How many compartments are there on this d**n train? was the thought that kept occurring to him. Peering through another compartment window, Sirius grimaced. Nope, no friends there...
Having walked a little further and glancing through another pane of glass, Sirius's eyes lit up and a smile spread across his face. Throwing open the door to the compartment, he cried dramatically, "Remus! I haven't seen you in ages! Not since... I don't know when!"
Throwing himself on top of Lily, purely so he would be seated opposite his friend, Sirius clapped his hands together, the grin still present. As he smiled, he looked about. Before long his gaze fell upon Kestrel. Immediately the smile froze - for all anyone knew, the impediment jinx could have been placed upon it. A frown replaced the smile and Sirius spat, "What's she doing here? Why is there a Slytherin in our carriage?" He made no attempt to hide the venom in his voice, nor to prevent his eyes from boring holes in the Slytherin's body. Instead, he continued to glare at her, his hatred more than obvious.

Remus looked at Lily, and then to Sirius, before answering Lily’s question. “It’s Ed.” He replied quietly.

"Get off me Sirius!"
Lily quickly pushed the boy off her, a bit annoyed. She then scooted down so he could sit across from Remus without being on her. She then looked towards Remus.
"Ok..."
A quick glance was placed on the creature and then Krestal before she leaned back, not wanting to get involved in the whole Slytherin thing.

"Remus?" Sirius glared at his friend whilst waving his palm in front of him, "Why are you concerned about that bloody stick when there's a Slytherin in our carriage?! You 'aven't been talking to her have you?!"
In the beat of a humming bird's wing, Sirius mood changed. Looking down at the stick, he waved and monotoned, in a very polite tone, "Hello there, Ed. It's a pleasure to meet you. Have we ever met before? Or are you a new friend of Remus..." Sirius's sentence was interspersed with a stifled snigger, "Or should I say Lassy?!"
