"Save it, Pattew." Andromeda said sourly unsure if Jason understood Merlin was a 'point of exclamation' like dammit, god, or shit. "So..." She trailed off, gazing at the buffet table. "How's you're... summer been?" It was a very random question, but Andy hoped it would start some sort of conversation.

Regaining his cold, I-don't-care posture, Jason looked haughtily at Andromeda, imitating the 'pure-bloods' to the T. "Please, save that tone of yours for other imbeciles. I am rather above that." He smirked slightly, hoping she would understand it was only a joke.
Relaxing his posture for just about a fraction, Jason arch an eyebrow at Andrameda's question. "Summer? Well, very... ordinary, if you get my point. You know, exchanging spells with cousins and so on." Jason had wanted to say 'Muggle-filled'. Unfortunately, a bunch of girls seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, with yet another bunch of adults. Saying 'Muggle' under such circumstances would be plain suicide. "What about yours? Enjoyed your relatives company?" He grinned, knowing fully well, from the way she behaves, the answer is a 'no'.

Andy chose to ignore Jason's comment about her tone. "Hm, my summer. Well, so far I've locked myself in my room for the time being until my mother managed to coax me out of it using cauldron cakes... and as it turned out they were just an old pair of shoes transfigured into food." Andy paused as Messr Pattew asked about her family. "Oh, I love my dear relatives." She said sarcastically. "It's been hugs and kisses this whole party."

Sirius laughed hollowly as Narcissa whispered about "Crazy people."
"Yes," he replied, hardly aware of his own words "Crazy People. I have a feeling it's only going to get crazier, 'Cissa."
Clasping his cousin's hand tighter, Sirius pushed through the throng gathered around his Father, ignoring the cries of protest that his relatives threw at him. "Excuse me," he muttered, as a second cousin's aunt's mother (obviously unaware of Sirus' mingling with 'mudbloods') attempted to ruffle his hair, "Coming through."
Soon enough, the teen was standing in front of his father. Who had recently been joined by his Mother and Kreacher. Sirius swallowed; his throat suddenly felt like it was constricting. Each of Sirius' parebts were clutching glasses and talking animatedly to the people crowded around them - though conversation soon ceased as they caught sight of Sirius.
Mr Black's nervous smile faded into a wary frown. Mrs Black, however, only handed her Chimera Tail Champagne to Kreacher. "Sirius?"
Sirius shuddered in response. Oh how he loved his Mother's dulcet tones. "Mother," He nodded curtly, "Umm..." The boy hesitated. He could feel himself growing paler, his hand growing clammier, "Well..."
"Sirius, spit it out." The relatives sniggered. Sirius reddened. "Fine. I have something to tell you. I was going to ask to speak to you in private, but you want me to tell you now, so I shall. Regulus..."
The thirteen year old glanced behind him, over the heads of the crowd, back towards where he'd left his brother, his friends. "Regulus has feelings for someone. A... a half-blood..."
Sirius was aware of a halt of the music that had been playing, a tension, a silence, amongst the relatives. His mother grew ashen. "A male half-blood... Mother, Regulus is gay."

Regulus had chased after Sirius as soon as he caught site of him heading towards their parents. He pushed through his relatives, crashed into people with drinks. Sirius couldn’t tell their mother or father. He just couldn’t…they’d kill him. He’d be like Sirius…a whelp, a disgrace. Regulus didn’t know if he could handle that.
Maybe their parents wouldn’t believe Sirius, maybe they’d think he was lying. Regulus didn’t want to take that chance. Why would Sirius sink so low? This wasn’t fair. What did Regulus do to him? He paused in his running. He had edged Sirius on. He had acted to cocky. Go ahead Sirius, I dare you . This was his fault…but maybe he could stop him. He quickly off running once more, his dress robes flying out behind him.
“SIRIUS! SIRIUS WAIT!” He cried as he ducked under a dancing couple. “Sirius.. don’t!” He ducked around one of his many aunts and came skidding to a halt just in time to hear ‘Mother, Regulus is gay.’ All the color drained from Regulus’ face. “No… he whispered. What was Sirius doing”? If they found out the Half-blood was Remus. He shook his head trying to rid any such thought from his head. He stood there panting and he glared at Sirius, a pain look behind the anger.

Somehow, ickle little 'Cissa felt that something was up. Something big. She had seen her sisters fight like that before, and had also seen similar outcomes; One of them going to mother to tell what the other had done. Yet somehow, this seemed a bit more grave as though this was one of those things that really mattered.
Just before entering a massive crowd of elegantly drunk relatives her thoughts were confirmed. For the little blonde turned her head and got a brief look at Regulus who had the shocked look plastered on his face that was similar to that of someone getting shot with a crossbow from behind. Then, yanked by her cousin's grip she was forced to plunge through the silky mass of lace and pearls; Of wizards in dress robes so perfectly ironed, it made her wonder weather or not they were fake.
Luckily, the pair was moving with haste through her relatives. Narcissa had a feeling that some of these people would give anything to be squeezing her pale little cheeks to death right now.
At last! The two of them reached Mr. and Mrs. Black. Strange. They didn't seem to be happy to see her. In fact, they barely saw her at all. They immediately turned up their noses when their son entered like he was a dead animal that the dog had dragged in. As the tiny girl pondered this she realized she was missing their entire conversation. That is, if you wanted to call it a conversation. The Black parents gave off the impression that they were talking to a cockroach, instead of their first born son.
"Mother, Regulus is gay."
Well that hardly seemed like a good thing to tell about. Surely Sirius didn't intend to get his brother in trouble by telling everyone he was happy. Even she could come up with something better than that!
"Whats so bad about Regulus being happy? I'm happy. Is that bad?" Sweet, adorable, naive little Narcissa. She was so confused.

Jason chuckled softly at her tone. Looking up from his perch, he could see a rather tight group of people discussing about something, something that seemed private. "Wonder what is going on there..." Jason muttered to himself, glancing at Andromeda out of the corner of his eye, wondering whether she would go investigate or not. He could hear them from here, though it was not clear, something about someone in the family being gay. "Now here is an interesting topic." He murmured, casting a rather amused eye at the teen who looked like he was going to kill Sirius, or himself right now.

Only as the last word rolled from his tongue did Sirius hear Regulus' anguished cries. "Oops," he murmured, with a sarcasm-laced tone as his brother pleaded with him to wait, "Too late. He really needs to work on his timing..." Had the room not been blanketed with a shocked silence, Sirius' words would have been inaudible. As it was, though, every syllable rang true as a bell.
Shaking his head, further dislodging the tresses that James has already dishevelled, Sirius dropped his young cousin's hand and turned away. "It's not bad," he assured her as he did so, "I'm glad you're happy. I'm happy too." And so he was. Very happy. Happy, triumphant... he'd finally avenged himself.
But then a hand fell upon his shoulder. A white hand, each digit long and elegant and ending in a finely maincured nail, painted a deep green. Sirius felt himself stumble, his legs give away.
His adams apple bobbed deep in his throat, and he found he was struggling to breathe. He recognised that hand... that was the hand that he'd held on so tightly to, as a young boy; that was the hand that had once stroked his fevered forehead. The same hand that struck his cheeks with sickening blows, that held the wand so frequently raised at him, that threw him into...
Sirius' inner being shuddered. The Sirius of reality remained paralysed. The hand crept to his ear and forcefully turned him on his heel.
And there was the face that always accompanied that hand. Mrs. Black glared at him, her face pushed up to his so that Sirius could see every contour of it. "What," she spat, flecks of saliva falling onto Sirius' cheeks, "Did you say? How dare you say such things?! You vile, pathetic, worm of a boy! How dare you?! You don't deserve the name of Black! You filthy it, dirty it, poison the so-long respected name of Black! Disatisfied with the grief and dishonour you bring to this family, you try and outdo yourself! As if we would believe that Regulus would ever do.. be... lies! All of it! Lies!"
Her grasp on his ear still tight, Sirius was shaken repeatedly by his mother. His face was a grimace, blood was beginning to flow from where he was biting his lip. "And on your father's birthday party! Discraceful! You're a discrace! I'm ashamed to say that I even bore you! You! You're no son of mine! Ungrateful! Discrace! You swine, you little toad, you wait 'til we're alone! I'll..." But then Sirius spoke, "It's true! Ask him!" A furious point at Regulus ensued...

What Regulus said controlled everything. If he said Sirius was lying then his brother would be tortured, sent to his room, and who knows what else. However, if Regulus said it was true then the tables would turn, and he’d be the one in trouble. What was he supposed to say?
Regulus stood there frozen as his mother shook his brother. He saw the pain and fear in Sirius eyes. Sirius deserved this. He was the one that was stupid enough to stride over and tell. He should have known that their parents wouldn’t believe him. He should have known that this would happen. This was all his fault; he deserved what he was getting.
However, it was Regulus that edged Sirius on. He kept badgering him. He pushed him to do it. Regulus should have known that Sirius would go over and tell. Regulus sucked in air through his teeth and sighed and he ran his fingers through his hair thinking. He looked at his brother’s shaking finger pointed at him. He thought that his brother’s voice sounded somewhat pleading.
What was he supposed to say…?
Now what his chance to show Sirius that he wasn’t so bad. Now what his chance to show that he didn’t live to make Sirius miserable and get him in trouble. His eyes went to their mother manicured hand. A hand that had never struck him, a hand that always softly stroke his head. Would he lose all that if he told them that Sirius was lying?
What was he supposed to say…?
The right thing?
The wrong thing?
It was all up to him.
Regulus took a deep breath, “M-Mother…” He voice was shakey, not at all the voice that was normally strong and proud. “Mother, Sirius is…” he trailed off and looked away closing his eyes. Regretting was he was about to say. He turned to look at her once more, also keeping an eye on their father.
“Sirius…Sirius is telling the truth.” He looked to the floor waiting for the worst.

Andromeda lazily gazed at Jason. "I think Sirius just told that excuse for a mother of his that Regulus was gay and..." Andy paused for a moment, listening carefully to the rest of the conversation, "and Regulus just confirmed that he was. I love this family." Andromeda slouched in her seat more than before and placed her hands in her lap. "Hm, yup. And now that I've finally gotten myself comfortable, I think I'll go watch this," The Ravenclaw grinned as she stood up from the couch. She looked at Jason while unruffling her dress as much as possible.
"Shall we?"

Jason chuckled softly as Andromeda stood up.
Shall we?
"Hmm, I thought I was supposed to ask that?" Jason arched a bemused eyebrow before standing up, walking soft-footedly to her side. "What now? GO over and watch this loving family erupt into some sort of feud?" He winced, never fully forgetting what he was. "The only thing now that could tear their attention away from a gay son loving a half-blood is a half-blood gate-crashing their birthday party." Looking around, Jason could not find any more Muggle-borns. Shuddering slightly, he looked back at Andromeda. "As long as I would not get turned into mush for being what I am, I'm game. Shall we?" He smirked, imitating Andromeda while going one step further and bowing slightly as he awaited the lady.

"That's the plan, primarily," Andromeda replied to Jason.
--half-blood gate-crashing their birthday party.
"That could be arranged... and no. If anyone's going to be turned to mush it's me. My mother is here after all," Andromeda paused, watching in amusement as Jason stepped in front of her and bowed. "Oh, you're too kind," Andy obediently took Jason's elbow and led him several steps forward into the mess of purebloods.
