Leaving the GCR on Important Business

[Remus J. Lupin]

^{"Yes, possibly. Depending on how you see it," Remus answered.}

[Sirius Black]

"What do you mean, 'depending on how I see it'?! Remus, please tell me what is going on in that screwed up little mind of yours!"

Sirius, by this time, had stopped in his tracks and was gazing at his friend pleadingly.

[Remus J. Lupin]

^{“You and Sadie have a very good chance of getting together, depending if you wish to go that way,” Remus answered, sighing. “You, Sirius, have the choice. You can pick who you want too.”}

[Sirius Black]

"Hmmm..." Sirius nodded, calmed by Remus's words, "Yeah... I guess I'm lucky there. But, Remus, mate, couldn't you fall in love with another werewolf? Then it wouldn't matter, would it?"

The third-year looked carefully at his friend, hoping he hadn't upset him furthur.

[Remus J. Lupin]

^{“Do you see any other werewolves around here, Sirius?” Remus asked, frowning slightly as he looked around.
“Nah, I’m the lone one, if you get me. You’ve got Sadie, and James is struggling to get Lily.”<br>}

[Sirius Black]

"No!" Sirius cried, "But... but you could make it so that there is another werewolf? Couldn't you? And as for me and Sadie... Well, to be honest, I don't know where that's going... so much has happened in so little time. And James. Well we both know that the chances of him going out with Lily are five million to one!"

Snorting, Sirius strode through the undergrowth, occasionally rubbbing a scratch as stray brambles fought to hold him in their clutches.

[Remus J. Lupin]

^{Remus didn’t answer. He was looking to his bloodstained leg, which he couldn’t feel anymore. He began humming, a strange tune at first, before turning into a proper song.}

[Sirius Black]

Sirius looked at his friend through the corner of his eye.
He began to hum too, but tunelessly.

[Remus J. Lupin]

^{“Sirius,” Remus began, frowning slightly as he thought of what to say next. “Have you ever been in the Clearing?” Well, he probably hadn’t, seeing as Remus had only found it a few days ago, when the path was nearly impossible to get through.}

[Sirius Black]

Sirius gave a non-commital grunt in reply, disgruntled that Remus had so cleverly changed the conversation.
"So it's not Kestrel, then?" he asked suddenly, "Weeell... is it Harmony?"

[Remus J. Lupin]

^{Remus sighed.
"Sirius, was you not listening? I can't fancy anyone!" Remus cried.}

[Sirius Black]

"I know perfectly well what you said!" Sirius exclaimed, rather surprised by Remus's harsh words, "But if you were able to fancy someone, anyone, who would it be?"

[Remus J. Lupin]

^{“I wouldn’t Sirius. I’m not that sort of person,” Remus answered, shaking his head. “I’m just no good at relationships.”}

[Sirius Black]

"Oh." Sirius frowned, the furrows in his brow causing him to change in appearance, making him look as if he had aged several years.
"I see..."

[Remus J. Lupin]

^{Remus nodded, limping into the school.
“So where do we go first? Dumbledore of Madam Pomfrey?”<br>}
