// I suddenly feel bad for Tia. *sigh* I guess Devin was pretty hard on her, but as long as Tia didn't start crying Devin wouldn't have really felt any pity for her.//

Sirius grinned as his handshake was accepted. "Devin..." The boy rolled the unfamiliar name about his tongue, murmuring it softly, "Interesting... never heard it before."
He smiled gently at the girl, a slight flush creeping about his face as she stared into his eyes. What was she thinking? Edgy, Sirius stuffed his hands into his pockets. "What... why are you looking at me? Do I have something on my face?"
So intent was he to find out why he was being studied so hard, that he did not both to remark on the muggle cookies, but only nodded.

Devin suddenly found herself staring at him. She shook her head a little and blinked to get her eyes unstuck. "Oh, Sorry. My eyes were stuck." she answered. "And well, I was wondering what a person of your social status would be doing talking to me." she said matter of factly, as she fought back a blush. (I don't know how but she did.)
"I mean, wouldn't you like to spend your time in a large group of people, like you normally do?" Devin had seen Sirius being chased down the hall by a gaggle of girls before, and figured it was one of his favorite pastimes.
She gave her shoulders a slight shrug. "But then again, thats no my place to decide"

"Oh..." The thirteen year old frowned slightly, "Eyes were stuck. Right. Neat medical condition. It must come in useful sometimes!" The boy's face split into a good-natured smile as the joke was made, though the smile soon faded as Devin made her analysis of the situation. "What is with people and that idea?! I don't like everyone chasing after me, you know. I mean... I like all my friends, and I like knowing everyone and I guess I like the girls and the attention they give me... but sometimes I just need to space out, y'know. And... well..." Sirius lowered his voice, "I'm only in here today 'cos I'm looking for a.. for a...", The voice here became near inaudible, "A book."
Shrugging, Sirius looked nervously about himself, hoping desperately that nobody had heard. He was just able to catch glimpses of his fan-club spying from behind the shelves - but none of them seemed to have heard anything. Considering himself safe, he continued, his voice now at a reasonable volume. "But if you tell ayone that, I won't be happy. Anyway. I stayed a bit longer than usual to wind up Celestia. Couldn't resist. And that's what brought me over here. I wanted to congratulate you on that hex."

"What? Did you want me to tell you that you had something on your face?" she inquired when she saw his frown. This made her chuckle slightly. "It would've been really embarrassing to make a whole scene like that in front of Celestia, and all the while you had a big glob of food on your nose." Devin pictured it in her head and it made her smile.
She listened to Sirius's short speech. "Well, I s'pose it would get really annoying to have someone watching you all the time." Thinking about it, Devin would have really hated it and felt a small amount of pity for Sirius, even though he enjoyed the attention most of the time.
"A book?" Devin thought his behavior to be both strange and interesting. "Why would it be such a bad thing to look in a book? You learn some pretty fun stuff from those hex books over there." //Hah sounds like text books! Accept with hex books! XD... Ok shutting up.// She gestured toward the isle that Andromeda had disappeared in not too long ago.
Congratulate? Why would he congratulate her for a hex? Oh well, it was a nice excuse to have someone to talk to. "The hex wasn't all that hard. It only took me a little bit to figure out, and I was just waiting for the right time to use it." Devin then contemplated to herself weather she should make the word 'Hott' appear on Sirius's forehead just for a good laugh. Nah.. I'll be nice. she thought to herself and left her wand in her pocket.

Shaking his head, Sirius made a quick retort. "It wouldn't have been embarrassing... I would still have looked good with it on my nose. I can pass off the food-globule look quite well, y'know... And besides... one of that lot," Sirius offered a subtle point of his finger to the book-laden shelf behind him. A muffled giggle was heard, "Would've licked it off in seconds, if I'd asked. So while it is, as you say, annoying, having someone watch you constantly i]does[/i] have it's up sides."
Having cracked his knuckles, Sirius gazed over to where Devin had gestured. "Yeah... ummm... well it was just a particular book. I try not to spend much time in here. This place creeps me out, and me and James aren't really allowed in at the same time. But I might look one day. Or maybe you could just teach me? I'm sure you're a great teacher. Being in Ravenclaw, you're obviously intelligent. And you're fairly pretty as well. Are you going out with anyone?"
It was plain to see that subtlety wasn't Sirius' strong-point.[/size]

Hmmm... Perhaps someday I should prank him - putting a glob of food on his nose during the night would be amusing. Thought Devin as he commented about how he could pull off the whole food-on-face look.
She rolled her eyes at the giggling girls behind the shelves. Why must they always giggle? It should be made against the law or something because it was getting very irritating.
"Sure, I s'pose I could teach it to you... Well, depending on what it happens to be." Devin remembered teaching her two younger brothers a few things with a wand. Of course, neither of them were old enough to go to Hogwarts yet.
Devin was just about to ask him what it was that he needed to be taught when he complemented her on being pretty. She'd never been called pretty before, or at least, in such a straight forward manner. "Oh.. well, um..."
Going out with anyone? HA! Yeah right! Devin suddenly realized that she'd HA-ed out loud. "You've got to be kidding me. In case you haven't noticed, I'm not the type of girl guys generally like to be around." While saying this she didn't notice that her ears were slowly turning red. She never really talked about her love life mainly because she didn't have one. Most boys were scared off by her wierdness before they could say anything.

Andromeda was standing in Isle 13, searching through book after book for different types of hexes. So far, she had found one that changed the victim's face different colors, another that made them tap dance themselves to death, and another one that made the person being cast upon gain weight, (how much was pretty optional). But most of these hexes required training. Lots of training.
Andy sighed in frustration as she leaned against the bookshelf clutching I Hate You with a Passion in her hands, trying to assess each hex her eyes met as she skimmed the pages.
"Oh!" She grinned, reading about the hex that could turn hair into cob webs and another one that could create large boils. Deciding that this book was an excellent choice for her, Andromeda strode twords the front of the library with her book, accidentally over hearing her cousin and friend talk about something that sounded much like 'going out'.
Well, being a girl, Andromeda was naturally curious about what the two were talking about. In mid stride, the Ravenclaw swiftly turned to walk a few rows away from Devin and Sirius, pretending to be intently interested in the new book selection in front of her.
Trying to hide away a smile, Andromeda reached her hand up on the shelf as if scanning the titles of the books. Luckily, she could just barley see the two third years and could hear them quite well. Perfect, she would have a front row seat to watching them... and if anyone asked, she was looking for a book. The whole plan was quite simple.
ll Err... writer's block? xP -kicks posteh numerous times- And I'm not trying to make Andy nosy, just... well, curious. ^^ ll

"Cool!" Sirius frantically nodded, expressing his gratitude, "When can I have my first lesson?!"
Smiling, he dragged a chair from under Devin's table and sank into it. "I can't see why. You're pretty, I guess, smart, as I said before, funny... why wouldn't guys want to be around you?"

"Whenever you really feel like it. Does tomorrow after lunch sound alright to you?" Devin asked, with a smile on her face. It would be nice to have company for once that wasn't Andromeda or Lanelle. Now don't get me wrong, she really liked her friends, but seeing a new face would definitely be refreshing.
"We could just choose a random empty classroom. Oh, but we have to make sure there aren't any Crumple-Horned Snorkacks, inside. I heard they are being imported from Sweden, secretly."
(Devin didn't know it, but someday she might just tell this information to a certain someone else in her later life and it would prove quite handy in a certain magazine. A magazine that would be rather important to a certain husband and daughter of hers. )
Devin found her ears to be reddening again at the sudden stream of compliments from the smooth talking boy. "I dunno really. I suppose most guys think that being different - or as they call it 'weird' - is contagious or something. So I'm usually ignored, not that I mind really. I mean, I have seen girls run into their dormitories crying there heads off about some guy that they didn't really care about in the first place." Devin inhaled. "Ah, well. What can ya do?"
//Wow. I'm feeling strangley more literate than usual today. I supose its from reading the 6th Harry Potter book for 6 hours in a row. Just mabey...//

((Yay for feeling literate! Unfortunatley, my literacy skills have gone down the pan today...))
Sirius went to answer, but before he could do so, his handsome face contorted into a frown of bemusement. "Humple-Corned whats?!"
Shaking his head, he responded to Devin's comments, eyes eflame, shaking his head furiously. "Nu-uh. Weird's great. Well. Different is. I'm not too sure about weird... it could get you a bad reputation. But umm... Ok. Tomorrow lunch-time. I know a great room. Meet me on the seventh floor landing, ok?" A small smile flitted briefly into view, before leaving Sirius' mouth a straight line of thought.
"Yeah," The teen admitted finally, scratching his nose with his right hand, his left hanging loosely by his side. "You girls do seem to get very attached to us. I don't know why. Why would anyone think to make a relationship serious at our age? We're too young! All I want is a bit of fun, y'know?"

Andromeda's eyebrows slightly raised as she heard Sirius' last comment. Well, he was certainly a boy, so it was only natraul for him to say stuff like that about girls. Andormeda thought for a moment about the sentance again. All I want is a bit of fun, y'know? Hmph, men really did have a habbit of saying that, and then the moment your alone with him, he tries to grab your ass. This forces you to slap him, (or if your a slut god knows how you'll react) or kick him very hard.
Andormeda thought for a moment. She highly doubted Sirius would try to grab Devin, but... she could be wrong. Oh well, it wasn't any of her buisiness anyway.
She lightly hummed a tune to herself as her finger absentmindedly traced the title of another book. It was quite fun eavesdropping.
ll -kicks post- I ish not feeling literate... ll
