Sirius grinned at James before turning to Remus and raising his hand in a friendly gesture, "It sure was," he muttered from the side of his mouth.
This said, Sirius picked up his quill and began to chew the end thoughtfully. "Ah.... these things taste good!" he muttered in an undertone. Discarding his parchment, Sirius lay his head upon his hands and began to suck contentedly. "Thank god for Sugar Quills," he breathed.

A red headed young girl frowned as she tried to concentrate on the lecture that Carrol was giving. Scribbling furiously, she stopped every now and then to tap her quill on her books to help her concentrate. A most annoying sound she knew, but it helped her brain run properly. Her emerald eyes re-ran over the notes she had made, would they be sufficient? What if boggarts were on the end of year test? She had to have good notes to revise from and with all the distractions taking place, Lily Evans wasn't sure that this would be achieved.
Lily rolled her jewel-like eyes as she noticed that Potter boy come in late. Part of her couldn't help but wonder what he had been doing, but se soon dismissed this and continued with her notes, being nosy was her sister's job and of all the people's lives to stick her nose in she most definately did not want it to be in Jame's Potter.

As the teen turned to his head in order to rest it in his palms, his gaze fell upon a hard-working figure, her face obscured by the quill rushing to and fro before it. Sighing, Sirius rolled his eyes. He knew who the person was... long ginger hair, forever taking notes... Lily. Lily Evans.
Sirius leant forwards, to where the studious Gryffindor sat. Flicking her ear with the sticky quill, he grinned. "Alright, Evans? Working hard?"

Slapping away the quill with an irritated hand, Lily breathed deeply. She turned around to face the arrogant youth. "Problem Black?" She asked sweetly, her voice dripping with steely notes of extreme dislike. One eyebrow arched and she glanced back at the board to make sure she hadn't missed any notes.

"Yup," Sirius nodded, passing his quill from hand to hand, "Yup. I'm bored. That's the problem - but you can solve it for me! You know how?" Sirius leaned a little closer, one eye on the girl before him, the other transfized on the professor, "You can argue with me. Or insult me, whichever. I really don't mind. They're both as entertaining..."

Lily drew air about to speak but froze in her action realising she would give Black the excuse he wanted. She raised her hand and patted him on the cheek, "Not today." She said before turning back round and scribbling on the piece of paper what had just been written in neat loops and swirls.

Sirius rolled his eyes, furiously rubbing his cheek to remove any traces of Lily Evans. Growling, he slouched back on his chair, sucking loudly on his sugar-quill.
Without warning, an idea crept upon him, startling him with his own genius. What did it look like Miss Evans wanted to do? Study...
Like she'd ever be able to do that with a bored Sirius Black seated behind her. The teen tilted back his chair, resting it on two legs, charming it so it didn't topple over. Grinning slightly, he began to drum his fingers on the desk, slowly at first, but gradually growing faster and faster - and as the speed of the drumming increased, so did the volume.

Miss Evans was about to turn around and ask Sirius what he was doing angrily but she wasn't going to give him the satisfaction. Lily tapped her quill on the book in front of her book, mostly in irritation before she understood what Black was trying to do. Under her breath she murmered "If you want to play, bring it on." She was not in the best of moods.
Her initial annoyance turned to competitiveness as she tried to outdo Black in his tapping competition. Starting with her quill, a habit that most people knew she had when trying to concentrate, she slowly added her feet and then the legs of her chair. The tapping increasing in tempo and volume, whilst Lily sat and nodded every now and then when Carrol spoke to look like she was still paying attention.
She was bored out of her mind as well, but she wouldn't let Black know that. Besides, Carrol was talking about Boggarts, how much do you need to know, how much IS there to know about Boggarts?

Sirius frowned as Lily attempted to beat him at his own game. This wasn't right... this couldn't be right....
Scribbling a note on a scrap of parchment in order to satisfy the suspicious professor, Sirius began to crack his knuckles.
It was a habittual action - but one that annoyed and digusted a great many people, so Sirius tended to do it only when alone.

All tapping stopped from Lily Evans, she dropped her quill and winced. Shuddering slightly her eyes widened as she listened to the craking knuckles. Tapping was one thing, knuckle cracking was an entire different game.
Bending to pick up the quill, Lily had paled visibly, cracking knuckles was one of the things she couldn't stand, how had Sirius Black stumbled across the ultimate weapon against Lily Evans?

Sirius stifled a laugh as he saw Lily pale. Abandoning the cracking of his knuckles, he moved on to his neck, twisting and turning the jointsuntil he heard a particularly delightful crack.
He smirked as he heard the noise, before stealing another glance at Lily and scribbling another nonsense word on the parchment that lay all but forgotton on his desk.
It was the boy's intention to crack every part of his body, toes included.

Lily, feeling a little sick, turned slightly in her seat before murmering "Stop it, please stop it." In a frantic voice, almost pleading. She whipped around as Carrol passed her and looked at the full piece of parchment in front of her. Lily opened a book and ran her finger along a line, waiting until Carrol had passed. "Please Bla-Sirius, I'll do your homework for you." She suggested, this was something she had always been against, copying homework, but she sat watching in horror as he cracked his neck, quickly averting her green eyes, she picked up her quill in a wavering hand.

Cracking his ankle joint, Sirius contempleted the offer, "All homework? Nah... just do my Defence Against the Dark Arts... all of whatever I'm set..." Grinning, Sirius stopped inflicting the torture upon Lily, "Deal."
Hurriedly, Sirius bent down, nose touching parchement as the Professor approached him. The woman bent to try and read Sirius's notes, check whether or not he had been paying attention and Sirius held his breath attempting not to breathe in her musky scent. "Black!" she barked, you haven't done a single thing, you've made no notes, nothing! What did I just say?! What are the properties of a Boggart?"
Sirius replied and the professor looked momentarily startled, as his answer had been correct. Shaking herself, she recovered, jabbing a long manicured nail at the barely touched parechement, bracelets jangling in a most irritating fashion.
"Well - you... you... You still haven't made any notes! As punishment, you can... do an essay - extra homework on top of what you already have. Two rolls of parchement with detailed explanations of the properties of a boggart and the correct method in which to handle one. Understood?" The teen before the irate woman nodded, knuckles white as he tightly clutched the sugar quill, praying it wouldn't be confiscated. As Carroll strode up to the top of the classroom, Sirius grinned, leaning back in his chair and resting his feet upon the desk. "Oh dear, Evans," he murmured from the corner of his lips, "Shame. We had a deal... looks like you'll be doing two lots of Defence Against the Dark Arts and my essay. Don't forget: Two rolls."

Lily opened her mouth to retort with a cutting comment but she reminded herself that her skin colour was still extremly pale, in fact possibly paler than Severus. So she put on her best smile and nodded in aggreement though her eyes were cold and she said through grated teeth, "Yes, Sirius." Turning around she sighed with relief, at least the cracking had stopped. Besides, she knew enough about Boggarts to find it relatively easy. Straightening in her seat slightly, she continued to make notes, extra detailed ones, so that this essay would be easier.
She stopped to read a paragraph from the book, and a small frown crossed her brow. Tapping the quill on the desk she re-read the page.

Sirius laughed as Lily forced herself to answer with courteousy - earning a glare from the angry Professor. "Good girl," the teen whispered, clapping his hands softly.
