Robyn watched as Starchild told Celestia off... She had, so far, kept quiet but now a small set of quiet giggles broke lose...
Miss Starchild smiled at Celestia in a rather impish way before she headed back to her desk... She pulled out a battered looking notebook and she opened it to a marked page... "Now..." she began... "Listen closely, I shall only read this out once..." she muttered as she cleared her throat to begin reading about Muggle Items and their uses...

A third year Ravenclaw sat somewhat off to the side of the classroom, next to the window. In her short brown hair she had stuck small pieces of paper for no partciular reason. Her red and gold tie lay across her shoulders neglectedly haning onto her thin frame. In her hands was a ball of string that had been tied together at both ends. Thus making a primitive muggle toy that had once been used to make shapes such as the Cat's Cradle and the Eifle Tower.
Devin attempted to rais her hand but it was caught on the other one with the string she had been fiddling with. She simply solved this problem by putting both hands in the air hoping the new teacher would call upon her.

Seated innocently near the back of the classroom, Lanelle Guadel slightly twiddled her thumbs at the dispute between the fellow students and teacher. It certainly would be interesting to watch, if only the third year wasn't so occupied gazing at her hands, trying to see how fast she could move her fingers in a circular motion. Childish? Yes, but you'd be surprised what one would do to get the heavy feeling of boredom off their chest.
Lanelle let out a soft sigh, slightly moving her body from one side of her chair to other. Professor... Miss Starchild seemed interesting enough to watch for the class period. Maybe not pay attention to for that amount of time, but Lanelle could go for a bit without the need to do anything. Besides, if she did get bored, she could just eat, chat with her neighbor, or 'entertain' herself as Miss Cassandra had said earlier. She seemed pretty low key.
Slightly cocking her head, Lanelle extended her foot beneath her and rolled her ankle creating a series of loud cracks. Ah, it felt so good to be stretch. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to be in this class.

Jayna sat two seats from the front paying strict attention to Miss Starchild. To say the least she knew nothing about muggles. Maybe some but definitly not enough to get her to pass this class, that's for sure. The most she knew was that they liked sports called casketball ((Not a typo! She means 'basketball'!)) that didn't even involve brooms and didn't even use magic. How they survived was a mystery. The only thing to break her concentration was a cracking noise this girl was making behind her. Janelle or Lanelle was her name if she recalled correctly. After watching her for a second the third year Gryffindor wrinkled her nose and shuddered. "So gross." She muttered.

Cassandra looked up to see two hands held firmly in the air with a small amount of string holding them together... "Yes, Cats Cradle girl?" she asked casually, laughing at how funny the girl looked...

Lanelle put her foot down, looking at the girl who called her 'gross'. This was a first. No one had ever called Lanelle gross... with the exception of that one time she stuffed a dung bomb down her brother's pants. ll ^^, Her and Theo do have a special bond, don't they! ^^ ll
"Really?" Lanelle inquired, gazing down at her ankles. "It actually feels quite nice. Try it." She said, bringing her two feet under her chair, and resting her head in her hands against the table. ll ...Or desk, I'm not sure. o.0 ll

For the first time since she came to Hogwarts, a look of horror filled Jayna's face. "No way! I hate two things in this world and that's werewolves and bone cracking!" Now her face flushed with embarrasment. Why did she go and tell that girl that? Well it's not like it would do any damaged, she didn't have friends anyway. Still looking a bit pinkish, Jayna returned to listening to Miss Starchild.

Lanelle's eyebrow slightly rose as the girl's face turned pink.
"You're afraid of bone cracking?" She asked curiously looking at the back of Jayna's head. "It's really not scary or anything..." Lanelle's gaze drifted down to her knuckles. "Well, it might sound a bit weird, but it really feels nice." Wow, Lanelle really was bored. Trying to convince someone that cracking your joints wasn't scary?
Shrugging, Lanelle brushed a few stray strands of hair out of her face and then picked up her quill, playing with the tip of the feather in her fingers.
"I'm Lanelle by the way." She whispered to Jayna, remembering she had not yet introduced herself.

"Jayna.." She mumbled, fingering a strand of silver hair. It was hard to pay attention to the lesson and talk at the same time. But since she was on a role she may as well continue.
"And bone cracking is scary. Imagine one day when you're innocently cracking your knuckles when at the same moment something hits it to cause the bone to break!" She didn't add that this had all happened to herself while playing with the neighbor when she was six. For some reason this started her thinking about her fish back home and how she wished she could see them. Quietly she sat and started to draw her two fish. Miss Starchild would be proud. These fish were probably the most muggle thing she owned.

Lanelle looked at Jayne funny.
"Erm, alrighty then Jayna, but... well... I think it feels nice." Lanelle really wasn't in the mood to explain that rolling your ankle and such wouldn't break the bone, and if for some reason it did, you could just go to the Hospital Wing to get it fixed. Oh well, she had met someone new today and that was all that mattered.
"Neat hair." She smiled, noting the interesting silver color.

"My name is actually Devin, but Cat's Cradle girl sounds ok I suppose." She replied to the strange name the teacher had bestowed upon her. Cat's Cradle girl? Why would she call her that? "Why did you come to Hogwarts to teach if you are so young? I know I wouldn't be here if I were you." The question was a rather straight forward one, but what did that mean to Devin? Absolutely nothing.
Without waiting for an answer she looked back down at the string in her hands and attempted to detangle it from her fingers. "Bloody... string..." she mumbled as she struggled with it. After jerking particularly hard on one loop he chair fell over backwards with a THUD on the hard stone floor. "Ouch." But the fall had been worth it to Devin, for she had managed to rid her hands of the string.

Cassandra smiled slightly... "Well, Devin, I chose to come back to Hogwarts and teach, I had such fun here when I was at School I figured that I'd maybe try and lighten the place up a little instead of treating you all like I know it all and that you guys don't know anything I'm gonna go easy on ya all, lettin' yourelax and such..." she said with a slight grin, her blue optics glinted brightly as she slipped her book down onto the desk... "And by the way if you try untangleing yur Cat's Cardle in that way you might just end up on the fl..." she began just as Devin succeded in flooring herself, surrenderring to the small length of thread that had beofre been entangeld around her fingers...

Devin stood up from where she lay upon the floor with her feet over the chair. After using the desk to help her, she rubbed the back of her head and suddenly the room went a blinding shade of white.... No. Not now. Not in front of all these people! She knew exactly what was happening.
"I need to go to the hospital wing." she said quickly and dashed for the door. If you were anyone besides Devin, you wouldn't have noticed the blinding white light at all. In fact, that light wasn't really there. Had you been in the classroom at that time you would have seen Devin get up then suddenly any brown in her eyes was left as her pupils enlarged almost filling in all the white in her eyes. This caused her eyes to see more light than there really was.
Devin then ran out, and blindly bumping into things made her way to the hospital wing as soon as possible.

Lanelle watched Devin dash for the door, hearing the faint sounds of crashing noises as she left the room. She was going to giggle, but quickly remembered the Ravenclaw was her friend.
Lanelle's hand shot up. "Umm... may I go make sure she doesn't run into a-" She heard a loud thump in the corridor. "a-another wall Miss Cassandra?" She asked quickly, not exactly sure why her friend was behaving like this. It was certainly... out of the ordinary, but wasn't Devin like that all the time?
Lanelle slightly squirmed in her chair, waiting for an answer. "...And I'm Lanelle Gaudel, by the way." She added, slightly smiling at the new professor.
