No New Posts Great Hall

A huge hall, with four long tables for each house, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin, as well as the Staff table, raised up on the stage at the back of the hall. The ceiling has been bewitched to look like the sky outside which many people find entrancing. The grey walls are brightened with large banners from each house and the chattering of students echoes around the Great Hall, leaving the lingering ghosts of long-forgotten conversations hanging in the air.

No New Posts Gryffindor Tower

Beyond the portrait of the Fat Lady in a pink dress, lies the Gryffindor Common Room. A staircase branches off into two, one leading to the dormitory for the Boys, and the other for the Girls. When you walk into the common room, the atmosphere envelopes you. The crackling of the fire fills your ears and the smell of chocolate is not uncommon. The common room is a warm red and gold circular room with many windows pointing out to the grounds. The multiple sofas and chairs provide a comfortable place for students to do homework, talk or fall asleep after a victory party.

No New Posts Hufflepuff Common Room

Much like the Gryffindor Common Room, with a fire and pink/red armchairs. Here be the place where the Hufflepuffs dwell. The large circular room is hidden behind a large tapestry with three knights guarding the entrance. A password is needed to pass the valiant three before the safe haven of the loyal Hufflepuffs can be reached.

No New Posts Ravenclaw Tower

A cosy Common Room set in the Ravenclaw Tower, where the Ravenclaws dwell. Inside the Common Room there are a many shelves with books upon them. The tower is one of the tallest in the castle, so many Ravenclaws have often found the multiple staircases a burden to climb. However, it is safe from prying eyes of the other students and the quiet Ravenclaws are able to escape from the rest of the world into their own private spaces where they can dream up anything from long-forgotten memories to future generations (with the help of a few books of course).

No New Posts Slytherin Dungeon

The cold dungeon of the cold Slytherins. A small fireplace where there is always a crackling fire, and a green couch. The Dungeon, like most, is cold and dark but most Slytherins prefer the shadows to the light. The entrance is covered by a stone carving that is a statue emerging from the wall. Inside the guarded walls of the dungeon, lies a few history books on old shelves but this place is more for the quiet ones who wish to escape the babble of the other students in the school. As many have found, Slytherins much prefer their own kind than mixing with other houses, and so, more often than not, most Slytherins can be found hiding in the darkness that they find comforting.

Shelves and shelves of books, filled to the brim with interesting subjects. Not only is it a haven for bookworms, but it’s lovely and quiet as well – perfect for studying in. The musty smell of old books is often in the air, and every year Madam Pince goes on a cleaning spree. At that time, it’s best to get out of her way. And remember, if she catches you eating or talking too loudly, you’ll serve detentions, or worse! She’ll hit you with a feather duster.

The classes are located all over the school; some used regularly, the others empty, dusty and cold. Try to remember where they all are, and don’t be late for classes, or it’s a detention! Make sure you bring your homework as well, and work hard, or you’ll end up working in a Muggle McDonald’s once you’ve finished Hogwarts.

No New Posts Owlery

Contact your family and friends back home with one of the trustiest ways – owl post! Sitting all over the place, Hogwarts’ owls and students’ owls, they make the place very smelly and fairly dangerous. The floor is littered with owl droppings and the odd small animal skull from where the owls have gone out hunting and brought back their food. Straw and owl feed is also strewn on the floor, so just watch out.

No New Posts School Grounds

The school grounds are often a beautiful place and rather calming. Students go out there all the time, to either talk or just read quietly by the Lake. The Forbidden Forest looms threateningly close, though, and many students swear blind that they have seen odd-looking creatures running near the edge. The Giant Squid is often basking near the surface, waving tentacles around and nearly dragging in students who venture too close.

No New Posts Forbidden Forest

On the edge of the Grounds, the Forbidden Forest sits. Despite being forbidden, a few brave – or perhaps stupid – students venture inside, some never coming out for a few days. The Grounds and the Forest is off-limits during the full moon, much to the curiosity of the students at Hogwarts. Some have even seen things running around near the edge of the Forest and on the Grounds as well.

No New Posts Journals

Students’ journals are usually hidden under neath their beds or pillows, and are off-limits and hidden from everyone else. You can write anything you want in your journal, from what person you have a crush on, to notes for your homework. It is your journal, and no one else can read them. People find writing in a journal at the end of the day rather relaxing.

No New Posts The Hospital Wing

Madam Pomfrey is Hogwart’s nurse, and can fix up nearly any injury you can offer her. She’ll fix you up and send you on the way, but her medicine hurts and sometimes students prefer not to go to her at all. Those unlucky enough to get seriously hurt must stay in the Hospital Wing for a few extra hours, or even days. At least homework gives you something to do.

Hogwarts is filled with random corridors and rooms, some which not even the caretaker knows about. Why not wander around the corridors, take a trip down to the kitchen, or, if you’re smart and lucky enough to find one, wander down a secret passage and find out where it leads. Take a look behind the statues next time you walk down a random corridor, and see if there’s a passage there. You never know.

No New Posts Detention

Prefects, Heads, and teachers can give out detentions, so long as there’s an acceptable reason behind it. Been out late at night, or forgot your homework the fifth time this month? Then get here and serve your detention. The giver of the detention can decide what sort of detention students are given, from writing lines to cleaning out bizarre creatures’ cages. Maybe it’s best if you just behave and don’t get a detention at all.

No New Posts Diagon Alley

Enter through the Leaky Cauldron, a tavern on the muggle side of London that seems invisible unless you look twice. Through the brick wall behind the bar lies the jovial Diagon Alley. Along this long cobbled street, one can find a number of curious shops and restaurants; from Gringott's Wizarding Bank, to Ollivander's, Diagon Alley is the perfect place for students to equip themselves for a year at Hogwarts. Wizards, witches and goblins too, everyone and everything can be found lurking in the streets of Diagon Alley, full of friendly faces and even friendlier shop assisstants, this is the place to go at the end of the summer to pick up anything you might need, including a glimpse at someone you may have missed over the holidays. Be careful not to stray too far, or else you might end up in Knockturn Alley...

No New Posts Platform 9 3/4

Kings Cross in London, a place where hundreds of muggles get around the country by using the trains as transport. What these normal people don't realise is, that hundreds of young witches and wizards use the same method to get to their mystical school. Young girls and boys mysteriously disappearing through the barrier that separates platforms 9 and 10 is an annual occcurence on 1st September. Once through the portal, there lies the scarlet steam-engine; The Hogwarts Express. The train takes 11-17 year olds up to Hogwarts and brings them back with a bit more information in their previously empty heads. But be sure to get there before 11 o'clock, 'else the train might leave with a few empty seats and children have to make their own way to Hogwarts School, much to the disapproval of Professor McGonagell.

No New Posts Hogsmeade

Students from Hogwarts in year 3 or above, get the chance to go to Hogsmeade on a regular basis. The walk isn't too far, but the time it takes to get there is nothing like the time spent buying things from shops. A totally wizard village is a dream for most of the students. Like Diagon Alley, it is filled with many shops and atop a hill, is the Shrieking Shack, believed to be home to vicious ghosts and ghouls. THe shops range from Zonko's, to Honey dukes and everyone pays a visit to the 3 Broomsticks, for the frothiest Butterbeer around! Enjoy your visit to Hogsmeade, but don't stay out past curfew, 'lest the ghosts come out to get you! Or worse...Filch!

No New Posts Wizarding Houses

Wherever you live, this is the place to post about it. Remembering your roots is something Hogwarts takes very seriously. Whether you miss your family during the school year, or hate them with a passion when you're at home, this is where you end up every year, and even Dumbledore can't help you out this time. No students can stay at Hogwarts over the summer holidays, but luckily(depending on your relationship with your family), the Headmaster has granted students the ability to stay at school, if they want to, during Christmas and Easter. Remus Lupin's house is a bungalow, stationed far out past Hogsmeade, in a small villiage surrounded by trees. Perfect place. James Potter's house, is what a normal house would look like, but perhaps a little bigger than what most could afford with a few House elves running around the place. What about Sirius Black's house? I hear you ask. A few stories high, in a Muggle street, and filled with serpent heads is where this poor fellow lives. Going home for him is like a recurring nightmare. Induring his Mother, his house elf, and his brother, it's a wonder this boy is the happy-go-lucky guy that he is. Wherever, or whatever, your house is, you can always invite people from school over, that is, as long as you ask your parents first.

No New Posts St. Mungo's

St Mungo's, unfortunately some people know this place all too well. When the sick and poorely go too far, this is where they come. Demented, fractured, or just plain weird Wizards and Witches are being treated here. Come and stay and eat cold porridge, or just visit that person in the corner. Many of the patients are not to be seen by the faint hearted, the ailments aren't just little headaches to get you out of Flying lessons here. The symptoms for some of the diseases are pretty disturbing, so make sure you come before you've had your lunch. Relatives are kept in a little waiting room, with hardly enough space to do that ever-so-necessary pacing in fear and worry. The Medi-witches and wizards are trained to deal with all ailments, but luckily most people from Hogwarts just end up in the Hospital wing with Poppy Pomfrey who has seen everything and anything in her time in nursing, many of which she never wants to see again. If you've come to visit a loved one, you may be in for a long wait. Cures aren't quick and easy, but at least you'll have the rumours at school to look forward to when you leave St Mungo's.

No New Posts Into the Future...

Fancy a 'spell' in the future? Take a peek at Lily and James' Wedding Day, Sirius in Azkaban - or just try roleplaying the gang in their later school years. Maybe your character is still harbouring that secret crush from the present and it's time to let it slip. Or is there a section from the books that you'd like to roleplay, the prank in fifth year? James and Lily /finally/ getting together? Your own charcter's wedding or death? Whatever you want to roleplay, remeber, you carve your own destiny...

Why does Lily hate James so much? When did the marauder's solidify their friendship? Find out here and maybe that love you've been harbouring started off as a small flame in the distant years of the past? However old you are in these roleplays, don't get trapped in the past. Afterall, these are simply memories not reality. You can't dream forever, one day you'll wake up to the present with a bump...
